That's some seriously top-shelf shit. Special props for including Freespace 2, which really is one of the best games of the modern PC era.

I would say that you should definitely play Half-Life 2 and Episode 1/2 if you can after playing Half-Life. They are essential gaming experiences, IMO.

Half-life 2 is such a weird gaming story for me. Tried to play through on xbox, DVD drive croaks, then announced for 360. Purchased for 360, now understand value of user-made mods. Up until I began to see otherwise *, I thought mods were all about putting Dragon Ball Z characters in Starcraft and Doom lol

Also, if you liked BG2, or are interested in it, dont miss out on the Icewind Dale games. I tend to prefer them, but they focus on large scale battles and tactics more than story.

That is one of the things going in the RPG section. As well as Planescape: Torment, a game that came out the same day I bought my Dreamcast (alongside Soul Calibur, Armada, and a VMU) with my year's pay for working in the tobacco field.

Yeah, if you have played through the HL2 games, it may feel like a step down to play Half-Life. But no. It's still great.

Picked these up for 22 bucks last night at big lots. Space Rangers 2 has some sort of starforce crap on it, probably really old starforce too.

That is a GREAT game. I played the living piss out of that last year-it tickled my dialo levels and loot RPG fix and my Star Control nostalgia at the same time.

Most of those games are actually pretty timeless, to be honest. They might be dated, but few of them really show it when you sit down and play them.

Real PC gamers dont give a flying SHIT about a game's age. Ive been playing NOLF and Half Life 1 recently, and will be playing FS2 soon too. I also wax nostalgic when thinking about Crusader.

Also, Homeworld 2 is sex, but like the first one, some tough missions.

How does Space Rangers 2 play? I get the idea that there is like a half a dozen genres in there or something.
