Well, I'm not that familiar with the US Marshals, but not really. The RCMP is basically the Canadian equivalent to the FBI (and the Secret Service, and the DEA, and....), but it is also contracted to act as the municipal and provincial police force in certain areas. Basically, they are the federal, provincial, and municipal police all rolled into one. We do
everything.
You don't even get to choose which province you get posted too? That sucks.
They ask us our five top choices for which province we would like to go to, but don't guarantee that we'll be sent there. Then, once our province is known, we get to request our top 15 detachments we would like to be sent to, but again, no guarantee as to being sent there.
