Same. I was fascinated by the Crusades and by the Templars and Rosicrucians and stuff back when I was a kid, as well as all the different monastic orders and all the wars going on in Europe during the middle ages and lines of succession and royalty and feudalism and whatnot.
But then again, my dad's an art history professor, so instead of fairy tales, for bedtime stories he used to tell us tales of El Cid, Roland, Roman emperors, and Greek myths. So that's probably where that came from.
My dad is awesome.
