So I'm kinda sorta maybe going on my first ever date. The girl I'm hoping to go out with is a vegetarian and I'm not really into that. Basically its like this, I don't eat tomatos or anything like that, ever. Sure, I'll eat peas, corn, green beans, potatos, and onions but thats basically it.

I guess for the sake of things I could try it, but if I find it gross I need a fallback plan so I don't insult her. My final, last resort plan is to never eat and just drink lots of water or chew lots of gum.

I know it sounds really stupid to go through all this trouble but I really like this girl and have for a very long time. I don't wanna screw this up so if changing things up abit is what I need to do, so be it.

Tofu is always an option for most dishes.

if you're not mature enough to eat tomatoes, you're not mature enough to go on dates!

I've still never been on a date  :'(

Veggies are cool.  Didn't your nana ever tell you to eat all your peas and carrots?

Note: dcharlie is trying to sabotage your date by giving you diarrhea.  Do not go to an Indian restaurant unless you are used to Indian food - it is spicy and can irritate your stomach quite easily.

Indian restaurant may be your best bet. The reason you it may be hard to find places that accommodate both is for how anal vegetarians can get if their food is cooked by meat or skillets that had meat on it or any of that.

I don't eat salads and get my hambuger plain ever since I found a water bug in my big mac many moons ago.

What McDonald's makes can't be considered a hamburger.  Seriously, go eat a frickin' salad and broaden your culinary horizons a little before you die of malnutrition.

i have a friend JUST like you. he refuses to eat any vegetables.

when we go to restaurants, he'll specifically ask to take out certain vegetables. When he orders something like Pho, he'll actually take out each individual vegetable and place it aside on a separate plate.

That's pretty sad.  Vegetables are good.  I'll pretty much eat any fruit or vegetable out there.  I'm much pickier when it comes to meat.

Poultry, pork (even wild boar), beef, are all okay by me.  I'll even eat stuff like tripe.  But when it comes to seafood, I become a lot pickier.  I don't want to eat certain things because of their smell or texture.

I cook my ramen different. Using the broth is just a sodium heart attack, so I fry the ramen in a pan with water, mixed vegetables and scrambled eggs. Then I add a tad of the flavor packet; eggs soak up lots of flavor so you don't need to use the entire packet.

Indian, especially Southern (which is entirely vegetarian), is great to take a date... shows you are a bit classy and worldly too. Thai would be good as well, a lot of dishes can be cooked vegetable only (I recommend the vegetable pad ga prow if you like the taste of basil and can handle spicy foods). Also, there's the old stalwart of Italian food... just do yourself and your date a favor and try and find a good local place, don't dare take her to Olive Garden. :P

I agree about Thai food. Great choice.

If you go Italian, don't get pasta or spaghetti. Worst foods to eat on a first date. Could get a little messy.

... have you been to an Indian restaurant?

Yes, and if he's never been to an Indian restaurant, he probably won't know what's spicy (A LOT OF FOODS) and what's not, and will look like a total n00b in front of the girl if he has to constantly ask the waiter how spicy certain food is.

Maybe he should take her to a bj bar for the second date!  Too bad he doesn't live in Japan or you could recommend a good one. :P

you see - this is where i'm ten steps ahead, get all the poon, and people like you end up having to queue up to sniff my fingers.

The fact that you still have the smell on your hands after you're done just proves to me that the old stereotype about British people's hygiene is sadly true. :(

I might understand why you don't wash your fingers after fingering your wife?  Dude, don't try to excuse that.  It's just nasty.  Just wash your hands after you're done.

BTW, if you're fingering a chick and you wash your hands thoroughly and you still have the smell of stank on your fingers...pro-tip: that might not be a 100% healthy pussay.

not only is this totally incorrect, but perhaps i should explain that this is a British saying and not something i ACTUALLY DO

Uh, so now you're saying you DO wash your hands thoroughly and they still smell like vagina?  Or that the vaginas you have personally fingered have all had a particularly powerful musky smell?

Please tell me moar about this, you seem to be quite an expert.  First you debunked the bj bar-AIDS connection, and now you have set out to prove that modern hygiene cannot withstand the smell of vaginal secretions.  You're like some kind of sex detective.  And you're so passionate about it, too!

You didn't tell me your girlfriend was vegetarian! I was a veg for 8 years. Too bad duck is so delicious. Anyway, any resturant this side of a steak house has a veg option nowadays. Being near DC, there must be some specialty veg place and they usually serve tasty meatless food that hides the veggies pretty well.

I can't stand the texture of any fruit personally.

most likely, your best choice is looking for local vegetarian restaurants in the  yellow book or online.  a lot of chinese restaurants have this fake meat that tastes exactly like the real thing.  I honestly did not know the difference the first time I had it.

She isn't my girlfriend, yet. I'm looking into it and I'm asking all my hippie "new age" friends to see what they know. Now that my original idea of taking her to the Natural History Museum is 100% down the drain for a first date, I need to rework this entire thing.

I don't really want to take her to the movies because as Ive been told many times, You can't really talk durring the movie. Then again we could go somewhere after that and talk but depening on the time and everything I don't know.

Plus, she might not even one to go out with me. I'm feeling so awful about all of this I'm not even that upset about not having a first date until now. I guess, I could ask her sister what she'd might like to do but even then I'll feel like an ass for not knowing myself.

I miss 4th grade. all you had to do was go "you wanna be my girlfriend" at lunch and you were set until 6th grade.

Edit: Theres a little man in my head with a top hat calling me an idiot and a dumbass. Is this normal?

I was 16 before I kissed a girl, so don't feel bad. Good luck! Be confident! Anyway, movies would be okay if dinner was after. Or ice cream. Whatever. There just needs to be "talk" time.
