I just saw some of Memoirs of a Geisha. This was all I could think about while I was watching it.

asian (as in oriental) people can't have blue eyes. some try to look western with blue eye contacts, dyed hair, eye lid surgery, etc.

Most Russians live in the part of Russia considered part of Europe. And of course, most Russians are white. Generally people don't refer to Russians as Asian.

I'm pretty sure Indians can have hazel, green and even grey coloured eyes. Though it's more common in half and halfs.

It was the same way in the book. Just a way to set her apart from all the other geishas, logic and genetics be damned.

And Beezy, re: Memoirs of a Geisha, it's a POS, but I think we're all still reeling from the shock of Gay Boy raving about Enchanted so Geisha seems like a normal viewing choice in comparison.

Dunno about Asian people, but from what I understand, Native Americans never naturally have blue eyes. Any blue-eyed Native American has to have Anglo/European ancestry somewhere along the line.
