I think it'd be kind of cool, since I'm not racist or anything. Heck, it could even be a black female! That'd be something.
Naturally, they'd have to be educated and well-spoken. It's sort of cute when white politicians use a regional, working-class dialect, but that's cause you worry about them losing touch. You don't worry about that with black people.
Also, they should be moderate. A black Republican is good, because they're thinking for themselves (as long as they're not really crazy like Alan Keyes). If they're a Democrat, they should not be too emotionally tied to, you know, "urban" constituencies.
I don't really want them to list what they think about individual issues. The important thing for me is that they have a sort of steady calmness about them. Just be a good, solid leader who's so obviously trustworthy that I know you'll make a fair decision that people can agree with.
Someone like, I dunno, Morgan Freeman.
