Movable Type nerds: Need help displaying only entries of a certain type on main

So here's the rub: I'm setting up a website for my wedding. We need to disseminate lots of information to lots of people as well as giving them a place to check for pictures and honeymoon fun (RRWRWRARARAR) later. I'm using Movable Type (http://asilenttreatment.org/hitched) and I want to create links in the right column to things like "Directions" and "Wedding Schedule". The easiest way to do this given my rusty CSS and HTML skills is to create catagories: "Directions" and then subcats "Maps", "Weather report" etc.

The problem is that I don't want any "Directions" posts showing up on the main page. How do I filter posts so that only posts of type "Main" show up on the front page?

Oh, easy. In the Template Index Manager, just swap <MTEntries> to <MTEntries category="(whatever catagories you want to include on the main index">
