I think it's clear we need a new mod who is either always up around this time or lives overseas, like one of us J-Bores, to make sure this kind of shit doesn't happen.

The only situations that would demand really immediate action are spamfests like the current zeergoth thing, and those won't happen often, if only because EB is a low-traffic forum without much membership turnover.

More mods inevitably mean more possibilities for intra-leadership conflict on a forum, which is always a pain. I'd rather endure one of these episodes every three months than bloat the number of users with the ability to ban and/or edit other people's posts.

He got all huffy and finally sent me an image which basically proved he actually WAS Synbios, and when I exposed him to the forum he apparently went insane. The funniest part is that I missed all the NSFW insanity (which was doubtlessly targeted at me) because I logged off and went home.

It brings back memories, he did the same thing years ago on this other forum I used to post on years ago.

He'd get banned, then he'd come back as an alt account but it usually didn't take long before he'd give himself away, and then once he got busted he'd go a spam fest before getting banned again. I think he did it like 4 or 5 times.

I like that this forum has very few mods and that no bullshit happens. Mod abuse is fucking awful (See: NeoGAF). Being a forum mod should be a position that's used to stop shit like what happened and that's it. I hate how some other forums have made being a mod some sort of status symbol. For fuck's sake, when some people have become mods on GAF, there's threads congratulating them. $:-\$

I only brought it up because to my knowledge there are no mods here outside the U.S. That's it. I do have control over the gaming forum already and should something like this happen again, I can clean up there, at least.
