The HD transfer is pretty good, not Kubrick good, but still good.
The special features are worth it. If you get it at Wal-Mart, you get the soundtrack, and all of the sets come with two discs, one disc solely with HD special features.
It's probably one of the nicer DVD/Blu-Ray sets I have. Since the film comes with all three versions of the film, there's a comparison chart and a companion booklet as well. The other side of the chart is the original theatrical poster.
