Are you sure? I'm sure it would be fun, meeting up with various PS3 users on EB and GAF, setting up the seating arrangment, dimming the lights before the interview starts. I can't wait!

Well yeah, it would be fun to meet a Wollan or Kittonwy in the wild, no doubt. But I'm sure I'd grow tired of it quickly.

well Ive met a die hard PS3 supporter In real life, it really isnt fun listening to them talk about how a PS3 is superior to an Xbox 360

yeah the PS3/Sony fan I was talking to was like, "the 360 is a piece of shit, it breaks. We havent seen a broken PS3 yet" So I was like "yeah thats becuase theres actually exciting stuff to play on the 360 and there are achievements to push for etc" and she was like "achievements are stupid, give ps3 a year or two and It'll be bangin'"

lol, right, I really want a console that will sit there gathering dust working on it's 'potential'

ps. she was British, are there a lot of sfags in England dc?

I saw something weird today that makes me think that Target is no longer selling HD-DVD titles, I was at the Seattle store earlier today and saw an employee pulling all the titles off the shelf and into a shopping cart. She also took out the price tags on the racks and replaced them with BRD title price tags.

TEH WAR IS OVAR

Wake up! Say good morning to
That sleepy person lying next to you
If there's no one there, then there's no one there,
But at least the war is over.

It's us - yes, we're back again,
Here to see you through, 'til the day's end
And if the night comes, and the night will come,
Well, at least the war is over.

Lift your head and look out the window!
Stay that way for the rest of the day and watch the time go!
Listen! The birds sing!
Listen! The bells ring!
All the living are dead, and the dead are all living!
The war is over and we are beginning!

Here it comes! Here comes the first day!
Here it comes! Here comes the first day!
It starts up in our bedroom after the war!
After the war!
After the war!
After the war!

i read this as "are there a lot of slags in England dc?" lol.

Yeah, Sony used to rule the UK. .
I was surprised to see that the PS3 has picked up so much steam recently  : i went back in July and it really did seem dead. It was just too expensive then i guess (and bundles mainly the options in most stores).

Nintendo have now taken over Europe it would seem.

haha yeah I already know theres a lot of slags in England  ;) lol j/k

NZ is Sonyland too, its ridiculous, I think that we are still the only country in the world where PS3 outsells Wii and 360

No, both formats were competing for the HD movie market.  they just had different companies backing them and different technologies so one format getting all the Warner movies (most important studio) means that all the other studios should follow shortly.  So basically if your brother wants to watch HD movies, he should get a bluray player since that looks to be the format all other studios put their HD movies on (of course DVD's will be made for years though).

No, he can still play his awesome PS3 on it

Plus he can watch OTA HD channels (ABC), or if he has cable in his room, actual HD channels

New Line is dropping HD-DVD support immediately.

Quote
Confirming earlier reports that it would follow Warner to Blu-ray exclusivity, New Line says its first HD DVD title ('Pan's Labryinth') will also be its last.
Though it was widely assumed that New Line (whose parent company is Time-Warner) would follow Warner Home Video's lead and continue to release on HD DVD through May 2008, a company rep tells us that New Line's move will go into immediate effect, with all of the studio's planned HD DVD releases now cancelled (including the HD DVD versions of current Blu-ray releases 'Hairspray' and 'Rush Hour 3,' which had previously been planned for HD DVD release sometime in early 2008).

As for 'Pan's Labryinth,' which hit stores late last year as the first (and only) New Line HD DVD release, the studio says that once current retail supplies are depleted, the title will be discontinued -- making it an instant collector's item.
New Line says it's not planning to issue an official press release trumpeting the move, ending its short-lived HD DVD support with a relative whimper.
The studio also tells us they won't be revealing any new Blu-ray titles at CES, though they do plan to continue to support the format throughout 2008 with a variety of new release and catalog titles to be announced in the future.

Pan's Labyrinth on HD-DVD should become a collector's item pretty damn fast.

You might be surprised at how knowledge of the ending colors your view of the film on a rewatching. I thoroughly enjoyed it the 2nd and 3rd times as well. Haven't gotten around to watching the HD-DVD (which just arrived in the post a few days ago).

I don't want to buy Pan's Labyrinth. As much as I enjoyed it in the theatre, I will never watch it. Ever. I don't need to blow $25 on it.

Sadly, impulse wins out over logic with me on purchases.
