Event Horizon again

Wow so I just watched this again tonight and I felt as unmoved as I did the first time - even dozed off a bit...

I love Sam Neil and loved bits of that stuff but the movie was really mediocre - they tried to make the ship the hotel in The Shining. When they decoded that video from the previous crew - where you could see like 4 guys getting fist fucked in the mouth, and the captain holding the eyes I knew it had no hope .

It really holds good promise and shows its potential thruout.....but it lacks horror class.

I did roll a bit on how the black welder uses his oxygen tank to make it back to the ship so Dr. Wier would shoot that hook shot at him thru the glass and de-pressurize the bridge.

but then i was going in with "haunted house in space" and that's all i expected

and that's pretty much what i got.

Bullshit, Event Horizon was was a sci fi rip off of Solyaris.  And while it was great, 2010 was a triumph.  Peter Hyams did some great sci fi in the 80s.
