1. Yes, they make you listen to EA Trax, that should be considered a hate crime
2. Called the 1-650-628-1005 EA number, got an answer right away the first time
3. "Oh, let me give you the Rock Band customer support number"
4. Call that number 1-650-628-1001, it's just an automated service for reporting their busted equipment, no way to check on the status of your guitar or even talk to a human being
5. SO, call the 1-650-628-1005 AGAIN, get put on hold for ten minutes listening to the aural brutalization that is EA Trax, finally get a human and tell the guy what happened, and
'Did you report your broken guitar?"
"Uh, yes, I already told you that, I already shipped it back to you and you've had it for two weeks, I want to know where my replacement is. I left a message on your support website on Sunday that was supposed to be answered within 24 hours according to the automated email I was sent, but here it is Thursday and I still haven't received a response"
"Do you have a UPS tracking number"
"Yes, I'm looking right at the UPS site right now, says the guitar was delivered on the 15th, here's the number - "
"Never mind, I need your RMA number"
Give him the RMA number
"I will check to see if EA can accept your request"
"WHAT THE HELL DOES THAT MEAN"
"Hold on"
few minutes later
"Your request was escalated on the site the day it was left, when there is information available someone will contact you, there is no information at this time"
Escalated? Guess escalation means NOT ANSWERING IT FOR FOUR DAYS UNTIL I HAD TO CALL
"Again, what does that mean, is there any sort of estimated time whatsoever you can give me as to when you will ship the replacement guitar for the busted one you guys have had for two weeks"
"Unfortunately there is no information at this time"
So I basically wasted 20 minutes of my life on that series of calls, and actually ended up knowing less than I did before I called.
FUCK ROCK BAND, AND FUCK EA
I'm buying another Xbox 360, getting it modded, and I'm stealing every EA game from now on. That will be my dedicated EA games box. I'll never give them another dime of my money.
