COD4 voice chat options

So basically, is there a way to do a party, and have it so there is only voice chat among your group, with no other XBL jackasses in the mix?  I forget, with XBL, when you start a private chat line, can you put up to 4 people in there?  Or is it just 2?

Private chat is between two people - one on one

COD4 doesn't have the ability to mute people, like Halo 3 does

it seems like voice is always on through the TV speakers, too.  I tried to turn it off from the dash, but I can still fucking hear it.  I am playing with the volume all the way down because voices are fuck annoying.

omg you encounter some bizarre fucks on xbox live

I was playing Doom during the weekend (finally got an online achivement :rock, its BS how the game has to finish before the kills register, fucks disconnect you all the time)

anyway in comes two screaming american dudes, and ones like "hey IVE GOT 2 GIRLS here, they have never seen Doom before, like wow"  then theyre like "gtfo Sceneman you suck, why are we playing Doom anyway"

I played some more later on and some guy was just gurgling down the mic every now and then, it was pretty intense

It's not even that I encounter assholes that much.  I just don't like having to listen to nerbos that I personally don't know.
