I downloaded the new Assassin's Creed for DS. It's supposed to be a prequel, and I haven't even started the 360 version yet. Basically, Al-Mualim wants me to get a Chalice from the Templars.
So far, it's pretty straightforward, but I am in a tutorial-bit right now.
The graphics are ugly, par for the DS. The bottom screen shows a map of the area, and icons for you, and the villagers and templars and your target, etc. There is platforming, but it hasn't been troublesome, mostly because there is a huge green arrow that tells you where to go.
Fighting consists of mashing the Y button. You can counterattack, but you do just fine mashing Y and backing away (hold R, press back), rinse and repeat.
To pickpocket, you have to do a mini-game, similar to Operation. Click on the item you are pickpocketing (ex: a key), and drag it out of the pouch without touching the other items in the bag.
When you are interrogating someone, OUENDAN appears. Various circles appear, and you have to tap them when the big circle closes in enough (it will turn green). It even has the rolling bits, where you hold the ball and drag it up/down. It's not rhythm based, like Ouendan is.
Both of these mini-games are timed.
When you kill enemies, you earn health orbs (red) and blue orbs (blue) that allow you to upgrade your health, and weapon, allowing for more damage.
