HAPPY VALENTINES DAY TO ALL , except that's not how it's going down in JAPAFAG land.

Today the ladies will (or most likely won't) bring chocos for the men, 99% out of duty.

Mrs C will not be coughing up the chocos.

Let us see what sort of fun a Japanese valentines day can bring!

Good timing DC, just got my 2nd girichoco.

I observed western tradition by buying the Mrs two rather sumptuous chocolate cakes. All I asked for in return was hours of ferverish sexual servitude. And a PS3.

25, I think that's about as many as I'm gonna get. Classes just finished like twenty minutes ago so a lot of students were doing rounds around the teachers' desks giving them chocolates.

Going to take a couple of pictures which I'll upload when I go back home.

Last year I got less than ten. This is pretty amazing.

I teach at a boys' school too. It sucks.

I got more chocolate this year than any other teacher. Like, the teachers who sat next to me were like

and then at the end of the day one of my co-workers asked "So, how much chocolate did you get this year?" "Oh, around thirty." "Thirteen?" "No, no...THIRty."

If it helps any, my first year I only got like five or six...this year I got a lot because I've taught third, second, and first year students. So everyone in school knows me (I'm actually the only person in school who actually knows and has taught every single student).

Well, I teach 9 elementary schools, so no one really 'knows' me all that well. But there was something on my desk when I came back from copying, the scheduling teacher from the school I was at gave me something and then I had gotten something on Wednesday from one of my eikaiwa students.
I really wasn't expecting anything, so that's whatever. But this girl going from OMFGGIVEMEURALL to not even sending an email is kinda odd.

I teach high school so there's the big difference - as I understand it, most kids in elementary school don't do the chocolate thang.

That's definitely important. I made a physical backup of my address book...did you get a JET diary? It comes with a little address book in the back, which is what I use.

Cute uniforms are a staple of Japanese businesses, it seems. There's this omu rice place I go to sometimes, all the people who work there are girls and they wear this cute little chef's uniform.
