I can verify that Microsoft sent out to one of biggest stores in all the San Francisco area (mine!) and grand total of two Premium SKUs and two Elite SKUs from January until yesterday, when we got restocked with Elite, Arcade and Premium SKUs.  The shortage is no joke.

Personally, I think the stigma of the RROD is starting to change buyers minds.

I do say that Microsoft is fighting a losing battle in consumer confidence with the product quality and is a good reason for positive Sony numbers.  I think the RROD won't bankrupt Microsoft, but it will keep Sony afloat.  It was just a bad play by Microsoft.
