was anyone actually going to buy this game? i mean, nice physics but so what?
I thought it looked pretty cool actually. It looked like Mass Effect without the framerate problems.
: Developing PS3 and porting to X360 could indeed give you the best version on both platforms.
: Having PS3 as lead though can increase your need for tech expertise and staff costs
: Difficultly developing for PS3 is still there, your spending on tech difficult of the machine that is not your lead platform.
: It maybe that you go through the pain of setting up your PS3->X360 system once, I'd assume that a lot of lessons were learnt from this development.
: Software sales will probably decide if the pain is worth it or not.
Sounds like every developer should just follow Drinky's suggestions.
Also, I wonder if devs who just do upgrades of their engines, like the Madden team or the Graw team will go with this new approach. It sounds like everything has to be started over if PS3 becomes the lead. And that doesn't seem to make sense for devs who already got their games running so smoothly on the 360.
Seriously, no wonder GAF has become an in joke with developers.
Yeah, it seems kinda weird that only devs who favor the PS3 post at GAF.
