It keeps getting delayed, the beta was apparently horrible, and it appears that it has been a very costly project as well. I know most of you guys hate HOME. But they need something to compete with XBLive. Sony has remained pretty hush about HOME as well, which doesn't signal any confidence in the product. And murmurings around the dev community is that it doesn't offer anything compelling. Even PS3 leaning sites and journalists have voiced concerns. Does anyone know what's up? Anyone here experience the beta firsthand?

I think somebody here said they were in the beta and hated it. I'm guessing this idea is nothing more than a 3D chatroom. I'd feel sorry for Sony if this was a large moneysink. I mean, I thought it was just for shits and giggles and a few advertisement bucks. Not like they would expect every PS3 to constantly walk around in this.

The new version of the Beta that came out last week is a lot nicer than the old one, but I'm still not excited about it.

I'm more excited about the trophies and such and the Home add-on content that has been talked about. I really don't care about the second life stuff, though.

I don't really plan to use home unless there's some good stuff in there. I'm open to trying it, but in general "social gaming" of that sort is shit. I don't want to meet online friends. Everyone online is either a pedophile, an anime fan, or a douchebag.

It looks like a glorified version of the PSO lobbies, and a lot of extraneous work just to set up an online game. I have a feeling that it's gonna come out buggy as fuck, nobody is gonna use it outside of a few Sony fanboys (someone post the Wollan quote about hanging out in the hottub at Kittowny's place with a buncha babes!), and it will lose developer support soon after its launch.
