I just tried Dungeon Explorer PSP.

ITs more like a glorified gauntlet than a roguetype.

I need to play more - its not bad really.

Only way to play multi is adhoc

So I got a stupid question....

I moved my PS3 to our bedroom yesterday 'cause we just got a new HDTV and let's face it - the PS3 makes one kick ass movie player - but I was just fooling around with the music player on it and maybe it's because I hardly ever touched that feature to begin with but has there always been that Earth from orbit visualizer on the thing? I accidentally hit a button on the controller and it switched to the earth viz and I've been watching that for the past 20 minutes....like a cat watching a bird I've been totally transfixed on it.

IMO the default visualizer on the PS3 was always better than Minter's digital vomit on the 360 but I never knew about that Earth one. Love that.

it was added a few updates back.....

they are also planning on adding more visualizers.

I hope they're all of this quality. I usually don't give a crap about visualizers but DAMN if this doesn't look amazing.

the multimedia player in the ps3 is whole lot better, by multimedia player i mean picture viewer, video and audio player.

though 360 is better with wmv and divx.

Yeah the earth visualiser is phenomenal. If the 360 wasn't better at playing my videos than the PS3 I'd never use it for media.

the codec support is the same now but 360 plays more divx files from what i heard.

and there are some wmv videos that the ps3 can play but with no audio, i can give links if anyone interested.

Like I predicted, I ended up playing CoD4 with FatalT. My best games so far have been while playing with him. I got like a 15 kill streak tonight and about 45 kills in a Headquarters match.

it's somewhat weird - i prefer the media playback of the PS3, but the X360 has more codec support it would seem

Basically. I have quite a number of files that the 360 will play but the PS3 cannot handle. So whilst the codec support is similar there's still some variation there. I'd much rather use the PS3 since it's much quieter but I'll take the variety from the 360 right now.

Back on topic, Beautiful Katamari PAL has no DLC yet. I don't know if that's a good or bad thing.

i just played Valkerie Profile 2 for the first time.

Only put an hour in and played thru the first dungeon.

So far I feel unmoved. Its pretty in parts - but I liked the combat in the original title better.

Need to play more as RPG beginnings are known for being lite.

I love 2D fighters, but for some reason I could never get into Guilty Gear. I think it's the subpar animation. High res sprites don't mean shit when a decade-old fighter such as Super Turbo animates better.

You are wrong, the combat in this one is the original + excellent transition to 3D. Now if you wanna complain about something you can poke at the rune system a little, and of course if you wanna critcize anything you could go for the 'I wish I had more poorly delivered tortured character development segments that were boring anyway since it was one note the whole fuck game'.

I dumped 60 hours into VP2 before I put it down, it was an excellent ride and it is one of the best RPGs on ps2.
