you don't beat it the first mission you fight it so just focus on killing what ever it drops.  if you can, shoot it in the belly when it opens up.  all of the laser guns on it are destroyable.

yeah, that does kind of makes sense though because of how you unlock better weapons on higher difficulties/later levels.  definitely will make you love co-op gaming, which is why it's a damn shame there's no online play in this.

Love me some EDF 2017.  Nothing is crazier or more intense than the last few levels of that game.

My biggest problem, outside of technical issues, is that it requires you to farm way too much if you want to play on the higher difficulty levels.

I dont get the love for this game. It feels like a garage game and its almost never exciting and the goals suck and the AI sucks so much it gets stuck under bridges. This must be some kind of 'smash TV' adrenalin rush, which honestly doesnt cut it for me anymore.

It gets more exciting at later levels? So how many boring levels do I need to trudge through? 50? Oh the lolz. This is definitely another case of garage game lookin dumb wacky jappy worship.

Hey, I like me some giant monster shit, but this fails to deliver. Godzilla games are better than this. Ultimate disappointment on 360.

Earth Defense Force 2017 (edit)

The screens make it look WAY better than it is. Nothing took the WOW out of the flying saucer invasion like watching all the drones bump into each other, the ground, and get stuck under bridges. The way the ants die is awful looking, and the environmental destruction is so far in the stupid direction there's no joy in actually taking a building out. 1 GRENADE will take down a skyscraper. Im all for fun destruction, but thats just stupid.

i agree, the screens totally make it look awesome but when you play the actual game it doesn't look too hot, especially the 1-D powerups and shit.   :lol

It doesn't sound like you got very far in the game maf.  I mean, dropships aren't meant to be that scary.  getting a shitload of ants barging towards you and your few allies and having a couple vehicles and unlimited ammo to fend them off is pretty fucking awesome on PLANET EARF.
