i can't stand trading card games anymore because it's more about money than it is about skill

I found my decks the other weekend while going through my parents' attic. I have a friend who still plays, so I gave them to him. I had lots of early cards (Alpha, Beta, Arabian Nights, Legends, etc.), he was thrilled.

Oh, I know. I just didn't care enough to sell them. They went to a good home, my friend LOVES the cards.

Oh yeah, I had other hobbies I've abandoned.

Baseball -- I played baseball from kindergarten to my senior year of high school, but I didn't even think about turning out for my college team. I still obsess over the sport, but I haven't actually played it in almost ten years now.

Baseball cards -- I collected cards from like second grade to eighth grade. Like a lot of things, you just grow out of it. I still have boxes full of sets at my parents' house. My collection of every single Ken Griffey, Jr. card from 1989-1994 is at my house, though.

Collecting Basketball cards and Baseball. I used to love collecting. I had a huge collection at one time. All gone except a few.

PC Gaming: I can't afford to build a PC every two years. Console gaming, even with the PS3 costing through the roof at some point, is still much cheaper and has a larger variety of games. I DO like PC gaming though.

I understand where you're coming from with the church thing, but you gotta remember to not judge lest ye be judged.  In other words, you're not perfect either (plank in eye).  Don't let people kill your love for God.....specially since you're a PC gamer.

D&D: I used to have bi weekly gaming sessions with a group of friends. However, due to divorces, people moving, work, and other factors this hardly ever happens anymore.

MTG: I used to love playing this. Then I discovered that the game started becoming more of a buy alot of cards and use someone else's strategy to win kind of game, where people I played against literally bought hundreds of dollars of cards and went online to get strategies to use to beat me. Made me stop playing.

Baseball: I used to play in high school. Then I used to play a once a month local softball game, but it faded away.

RC Cars - I loved these when I was younger.  Every few years I look in on what is going on and fantasize about getting something.  Just a couple of weeks ago I was looking again.

Guitar - I've always played but for the last 10 years I've completely slacked off.  I've put a couple in the living room in recent years to encourage myself to at least pick them up and fiddle now and then.

i completely forgot about Vampire.  That was a fun one too even if the art was generic to horrible.

I can barely remember Vampire, although I know I really liked the mechanics of the game.  Some of us had little red jewels for the 20 blood points or whatever they were.  Luckily I never had those because only nerds have things like that.  What a bunch of nerds!

Towards the end I think I bought a pack of Rage cards.  But they looked awful.  I don't think I ever played a game.

I also played some AD&D and Werewolf.  They were fun.  I only once was the dungeon master for a Werewolf game.  Because I couldn't be bothered doing calculations I'd just look at the dice and say "awesome, you hit him, took his head off" or "nah, he hammered you". 

Some people loved it, but the purists at the table were fairly unimpressed at my out-there DM'ing.

I fucking loved Yu-Gi-Oh.  I could beat anybody on my wrestling team since I was the hugest nerd there.

One day I saw a flyer announcing a Yu-Gi-Oh tournament at the local library.  I went there and when I stepped in the room I noticed I was the only one who drove himself there at the time.  I was seventeen.  Actually, I'd wager that I was the only person with pubes in the room.  I was knocked out the first round by a nine year old.  That's the last time I touched my cards.

Comics. I used to be a huge comic fiend, mainly focusing on X-Men stuff (X-Men and Uncanny X-Men). I have hundreds of comics but haven't bought one in around 8 years. I didn't like the direction my favorite books were going in after the release of the first X-Men film. Marvel obviously wanted to introduce new readers to the fold but in the process they really dumbed down the books.

Stars Wars toys. No comment.

(Playing) Football. I went to a HS that didn't have any sports programs so I hung out at some of the public highschools; obviously I couldn't join any teams but I played pick up games with them. I'm a pretty good CB. Haven't played in a couple years though

Drawing. I used to draw my own comics as a kid; I was never good but did it for fun.

Nintendo. Many people first heard about me due to the Aries situation. I was a big Nintendo nerd once, but the Wii woke me up thank god.

Videogames. I used to play some stuff but now I just play WoW and StarCraft. Honestly the only games I'm interested in this year are StarCraft II and the Lich King expansion. RE4 is one of my favorite games ever though, so when RE5 comes out I'll probably jump into the next gen. Now I prefer to simply troll games I've never played before. Like Halo 3 and GTA
