What about when you've finished the game, and then years down the line wish to play it again, like many people do with older games? Whoops, you forgot to keep registering it. Fuck you.
The console versions will.
HA HA HA. OH WOW.
I'd imagine the system would stop caring after a certain amount of time. Probably past the initial sale time when sales are so small.
Anyways, I see people's points about this, but I have no problem. They take aggressive measures because they get FUCKED by people downloading these games.
"this is what's killing pc gaming"
Give me a fucking break. No it's not. Thieves are killing pc gaming. PC gaming started faultering long before practices like this came into place.
If there's one thing the internet has proven, it's that if people are able to get it for free (music, movies, games) easily, they definitely will. If they released Spore with none of this shit, you guys REALLY think the masses would be like "oh my god, Spore doesn't require online activation every 10 days? i'm totally getting that!"?? You can't be serious.
And like someone said earlier, most PC gamers are hardcore gamers with beefy machines that are ALWAYS connected to the net. Of course there are going to be issues like internet being down, shit like that. But for the majority, they're always on and you know it!
Quit being such babies. I want to punch all those fucking people in the face in the GAF thread.
"-1 sale" "they just lost a sale" "i guess i'm cancelling my preorder"
bullshit. if all those people had actually preordered or planned on ever buying it, PC gaming would not be in the state it's in.
and my favorite...
"I guess i'll just get it for free

"
Don't be so self righteous. You never fucking planned on buying it. You're just justifying stealing it, you stupid fuck. At least be honest.
