It's probably in second run theatres, if such a thing exists. I just caught it on the last day of its run at a nearby IMAX.

Man, it's good. The kid is a bit annoying and some of the actors have nothing to do, but I love me some John Goodman and I thought Christopher Hitchens did really well as the villain.

I think it's in IMAX 'till The Dark Knight is released. That's the only big IMAX release I can think of that would make theatres dump it. But - yeah - Speed Racer is going to be a cult classic.

Since I never saw Indiana Jones, this has been the most satisfying summer blockbuster season for me in ages (Iron Man, Speed Racer, The Incredible Hulk, Wall-E, Wanted) and I haven't seen The Dark Knight or Hellboy II, yet!

Kung Fu Panda actually replaced Speed Racer at a bunch of IMAX theatres which is not an awful choice.

But Speed Racer seems like the most appropriate IMAX movie ever. Never before have the epilepsy warnings seem so justified!

When Speed finishes the race at the end, it was like my brain was slapped in the face by a rainbow. So, yeah, I wouldn't be surprised if that gave people seizures.

one of my favorite movies. was so well done. had so many fresh ideas. it was exactly what i wanted from a speed racer movie.

It's at a second run theater in Seattle, I plan on seeing it tomorrow for $2.

7 months into 2008, it remains the best movie of the year so far. Can't wait for the BD release. Since it was out in May, and bombed so hard, Im hoping for an early September release.

I saw Indy IV

I liked it.

Speed Racer is still a lot fucking better on about every level.

So, the rewatch verdict:

It still kick ass.

Spridle and Chim Chim are annoying as hell

They still don't keep the movie from being fuck awesome.

By the way, the Blu-ray transfer..... jesus titty fucking christ.

This may be an understatement.

It may be the best Blu-ray in terms of picture quality that I own.

From beginning to end, the saturated colors and the amazing editing make this a film you can't tear you eyes away from.
