Seriously, doesn't this game pretty much REQUIRE 4p? Even stuff like Gears and Crackdown would benefit from 4p. Every game does, but this game approaches useless without it.

I love how he flatly admits that they just couldn't balance it. AAA, boys.

I'm not going to double guess the validity of the decision, but it'd be nice if developers in general just refrained from promising things until they know that it will for sure work. This is yet another one that Dyack has brought upon himself, although I'm sure he will find a scapegoat for this too. It's always someone else's fault.

How could they possibly have balance issues if they were creating the game with 4p co-op in mind? Way to shoot yourselves in the foot, as if the game needed any other obstacles. I now have little more than passing interest in this game.

Yes. A PSO Clone with half the players doesnt deserve shit thrown its way. Fuck i was playing 4 player co op with buddies 8 years ago on the dreamcast.

I Love SK. Loved Eternal Darkness. Loved Twin snakes. But fuck it. They deserve shit after today.

I don't doubt people are disappointed with it or that they just don't give a rats ass for SK in general but the vitrol being thrown their way is so disproportionate to what's being displayed that I really have to wonder about what the hell is actually swiming in people's heads sometimes.

The automaton comment was more or less directed towards the thread I read at GAF not to the fine bunch of gents we have here.

It's the Yescombe syndrome. If you want to talk big, then that's fine, talk big. But then you'd better make sure all that big talk isn't just that, talk. If a dude runs around talking about how enormously amazing his cod is, and how he can bring any woman into an uncontrolled orgasm just be flashing his junk, that's fine, right? That is, until he partakes in some drunken orgy and his dong not only fails to measure up in terms of physical presence, but also fails to meet the performance bar that his bragging had set for him. From that point on, he will be known as the guy with junk for junk. That's Dyack right now, running around with a brightly painted stump and a Hasselhoff mask, hoping that it will be enough at least attract some ugly chick who is desperate for some dicking, shallow as it may be.

You guys are right about the balance. If they spent all this time working it out so that you'd need 4 different classes to get through effectively then how can it work as well with 2?

I'm not bothered by the lack of 4 player co-op, but over-promising and under-delivering is never a good position to be in. You'd think they'd take more care to avoid it.

It goes along with the bullshit habit of announcing glorious trilogies before they have so much as released a demo for the first game. I understand that internally and especially in terms of publisher relations, doing the most with a new IP is very important, but really, make a good game and then talk about sequels.

Somehow I don't find Denis as annoying as Peter Molyneux (who irritates the living daylights out of me), but Denis is no slouch at getting ahead of himself and then having it backfire. He should have just shut up in the year leading up to the release of the game, especially since people were already burned out after hearing about this game for the last decade.
