Mirror's Edge won't make it this year, i think.

NG2, Banjo 3, VP2, Gears2, Fable2, Infinite, Vespera and whatever multi game i missed.

and of course mgs4 on the ps3 side.

besides, do you guys really need to see AC2/ME2 this year? they fucking need up the fucking gameplay for both.

Everything about Mirror's Edge just looks so different from any game that we've had this gen so far. I really hope it turns out good and doesn't give me motion sickness.

Mirror's Edge is one of the games I'm most looking forward to. It is by DICE who makes my favorite multiplayer game series. It is a dev understanding how to use color (as opposed to Rare who vomits color onto their games). It is based around freerunning. More about escaping and not killing everyone you see giving a sense of danger. It looks amazing. Main character looks awesome. It has awesome music. The use of colors in the game isn't just a style based thing, but it looks like it is build into the gameplay in a really smart way. It uses the first person perspective properly (I really like it when games do this).

I can't wait to pick it up on PC.

Well, it's true. Looking at damned near every game that the company has released in the past few years, one could easily begin to think that these games are designed without a real art director on staff. Cluttered, poorly balanced visual noise and vomit, all of it. Viva Piñata is about the only Rare game that at least feels like a coordinated effort.

I dunno. The art style is pretty shit outside of the use of color IMO. PDZ has terrible art in general, but I actually liked the colorful look. If only they had someone that could design decent looking characters

That was more only about Kameo and PDZ, must mostly Kameo. Viva looks awesome and Banjo is pretty great also, but still Kameo is just so overdone.

They made their worst games when they were with Nintendo.

The only game they made with Microsoft that turned out really bad was Grabbed by the Ghoulies. Well, and they did made horrible multiplayer for Conker. Kameo wasn't that bad and I even enjoyed PDZ for the multiplayer. Viva is awesome and Banjo 3 looks awesome (Better than Banjo 2, which was bad).

The thing I like most about PDZ are some of varied environments, but the shine to them all was just way too much. I was actually playing it last week and the level where you enter stealthy and go into the nightclub makes me wish that they would attempt another game in the series.

i've played crackdown and assassin's creed. crackdown was decent, it's true. the jumping from building to building crap was the best part of that game. If they actually made it an interesting platformer it could work. The trailer didn't interest me much because of it showed the most basic, boring stuff. It could work, but I certainly didn't see anything worth spooging over...yet.

Blast Corps, RC Pro Am, and Captain Skyhawk were awesome lesser known games of theirs. They have some great games, but they aren't some golden company that constantly puts out amazingly amazing games.

Rare is good at making renditions of Nintendo games. Goldeneye was the exception here, but that staff left. They're like naughty dog, but much better at it and less ego fueled.

Diddy Kong Racing is a lot better than Goldeneye. Goldeneye is an unplayable shithouse of a game nowadays

I dunno, i'm pretty content with PS3. But I also plan to build a new PC sometime this year, so that will cover what i'm missing. I can't think of many 360 exclusives that I'd want aside from CULDCEPT that I couldn't get on PC.

Most of my PS3 games seem to be multiplatform, though. lolol

Microsoft blew its load and now it is storing up for the second round.

Besides, they have a lot of large games coming out. It is just that none of them are Halo 3 or the first Gears of War so they don't seem as huge as it seemed a couple years ago.

I don't think they are coasting but I don't expect Microsoft to put in anymore huge efforts. Sony is doing a fine job sabotaging the PS3 themselves and the Wii has too much momentum for Microsoft to beat down realistically. They seem to be content with a profitable 2nd place, hoping to recuperate some of the massive losses they've taken this decade on the Xbox line. So Microsoft will probably not be as aggressive now as they were in 2005 when there was a chance that the PlayStation 3 would be #1.
