And... I don't own the 360 but do have a PS3 and so far I'd have to say if it weren't for the 360's god-awful reliability I'd probably own one now.

That doesn't prevent me from calling it the way I see it though, and for MGS4, a PS3-exclusive game to render at less than 720p when Sony was jumping up and down like an alpha-male silverback gorilla extolling the virtues of 1080p gaming, well, is frankly inexcusable.

At least Sony / PS3 fanboys had the "lead console" bs excuse before; what is their excuse now?

Perhaps the trend following over-over-over-over-over-hyping one big game is to downplay the next?  Or perhaps they just took off two points for the ridiculously-long cut scenes?   

Add me for the "LOLz" at whoever said Metal Gear Solid has a better storyline than the Lord Of The Rings movies.  I don't know how he was able to type that with a straight face.

I don't think that's needed.  Just put them in a "gaffer" group for a week to a month if they're really bad and put on them the same restrictions as a leper.  They'll learn quickly not to be a douche.

Totally agree with you guys... leave the "game iz only 558p!" and "game gets a 6.8 in edge" shyt for NeoGAF, more talk about PLAYING games, less about sales/review scores, please.

I don't see a problem with discussing reviews, as they frequently make for good pre-release guides and subsequently good fodder for debate. Focusing on review scores, on the other hand, nothing good ever comes out of that.

There's also righteous enjoyment to be had from tearing critics apart.

So you're one of those distinguished fellows who wanted Tom Bombadil in the movie.

Not necessary, but were he included, it would have at least been a suggestion that the director had some kind of actual vision for the movie other than "file off all the rough edges that don't suggest any obvious dramatization that doesn't run the risk of being awkward, render everything else in thuddingly dull literal fashion, and call it a movie".  But the omission of the Scouring pretty much invalidates the whole exercise.
