I'm not skipping it.

The game doesn't keep track but I know I've gotten as far as like 60 or the 80 enemies killed.

I'm NOT skipping it.

draft, from that huge post at gaf, i take it you still didn't beat TOV1 yet?

i skipped it and so glad i did, now i am on chapter 6, once i get volf's weapon shit will be easier.

as for the 2nd and 3rd TOVs, 2nd is easy and you only get a yellow essence, waste of time.

while the 3rd is very hard, puts you against red werewolves and blue dogs, thankfully the twin swords UT saved my ass, after spending all my items of course lol.

still, it's all fair unlike the first TOV, only things i saw cheap was alexi's grabs, he really loves grabbing me everytime.

then there is the fire pillars and SUDDENLY 3 FIRE WAVES OH SHIT, GAME OVER.

now that i think about it, it was the same as warrior, they didn't change anything, fucking weird.

Quote
guys im not kidding me and my friend on xbl just got a free 190 achievement points by watching ninja cinema in the leaderboards.

Go to Leaderboards then Karma Challenge then find no. 35 his gamertag is darkness c4wm. Press the right analog stick in to watch his playthrough. When it loads you will immediately get 190 points! Its the DLC achievments and the reason you get 190 and not the full 200 is because he doesnt have the last two achievements for it!

Today I beat the game on Normal and one thing that stuck with me,was that this is a really REALLY unpolished piece of garbage. I had to fight the Armadillo's around 6 times because A:It's a craptasticly made boss fight and B:Once I killed them, they dissapeared from the screen but their health bars didn't. Therefore, allowing one of them to shoot fireballs FROM THIN AIR. As I progressed through the final stages I started to die from bosses because of one primary reason: GRABS. ENEMIES AND BOSSES SHOULD NOT BE ABLE TO GRAB YOU! THIS IS FUCKING distinguished mentally-challenged. THEY SHOULD NOT BE ABLE TO DO GRABS THAT TAKE HALF YOUR GODDAMN HEALTH BAR. YOU CAN'T DODGE THE GRABS BECAUSE THEY'RE NINJA FAST. YOU CAN'T DODGE THE GRABS BECAUSE YOU CANNOT SEE WHAT IS OFF SCREEN BECAUSE SHITTASTICLY HORRIBBLE CAMERA WON'T SHOW YOU.

Also, most bosses seem to have no rhyme or rhythm to them. They honestly seem random,no set pattern AT ALL. Genshin is easily the best boss fight in the game because he has one,not surprisingly he is also the easiest. Some attacks are oddly easy to dodge one second but impossibly hard the next . You would think during your second playthrough that you would've mastered dodging fireballs but NO I DON'T THINK SO HONEY.

I know bitch bitch or perhaps I suck or I should go play my easier DMC4 but at least in DMC when a enemy throws an attack at me,I know I can either dodge or Royal Guard it with timing. THERE SEEMS TO HONESTLY BE NO TIMING IN NINJA GAIDEN 2, JUST NINJA LUCK. "HOPE YA DON'T GET HIT HUR HUR"  I went through a whole playthough in DMC3 using mostly Royal Guard. I KNOW TIMING. IT DOESN'T EXSIT IN NINJA GAIDEN 2. Sometimes you do really good other times you're stuck staring at the screen wondering what the fuck just happened.

Itagaki  :bow2

tl ; dr : Ninja Gaiden 2 is like a child that came out the oven way too early. It shows promise but will ultimately disappoint you because it's a fucking distinguished mentally-challenged fellow.

Um, the volcano is shooting fireballs at you during the two armadillo boss fight.

You can dodge grabs, just pay more attention to the bosses attacks.

Yeah, the bosses didn't really have a set pattern in NG2, but they all had like 4-5 attacks at most. It's not too hard to learn how to dodge them all.

I know bitch bitch or perhaps I suck or I should go play my easier DMC4 but at least in DMC when a enemy throws an attack at me,I know I can either dodge or Royal Guard it with timing. also, the bosses here are better for a simple fact:

you fight them all one on one, with the exception of genshin first and second battle.

in black/sigma, bosses will summon minions whenever you deal some damage to them.

Um, the volcano is shooting fireballs at you during the two armadillo boss fight.

I'm aware of that but when you defeat them everything stops even the volcano. That time I fought them, nothing stopped, the fireballs kept coming wether they were close range or long range. I couldn't even leave the area.

Everything else you said was pretty fair.

you fight them all one on one, with the exception of genshin first and second battle.

The second Zedonious summons those red scorpion enemies when he flies into the background. Volf has a goddamn army of minotaurs. I think that's it though.

just finished mission 3, and i'm not sure what to make of it -- the combat still feels really fast and brutal and the enemies are still pleasingly aggressive, but the new scoring system really changes things up. ng1 was about pure speed and efficiency, whereas this seems to be about getting as many ultimate and obliteration kills as possible. i kind of hate ultimates, so i usually find myself pecking away with ground combos until i get a limb and then obliterating...and i'm not sure i'm into this. it's like a weird variant on dmc's style-based scoring. might just forget about rankings and play it like i'm playing ng1. claws are rad, though i'm better with the dragon sword

UT is the only way to survive master ninja, especially the Lunar 360 UT.

in the first NG, you could rely mostly on wall attacks, flying swallow and izuna drop, here walls won't help at all and flying swallow gets dodged a lot or will leave you open for grabs, same when landing an izuna drop.

never thought i'd say this, but after playing mission 7, i can see why action games are usually full of perfunctory pseudo-adventure bullshit -- the structure of that level made it feel more eventful than the levels before it, which play out like extremely long hallways. good mix of enemies too. the mechs are awesome. loved that test of valor

finished mission 12, must be getting close to the end -- it's finally developed some visual interest as the setting gets more demonic, but the game itself seems to have devolved into a gauntlet of recycled bosses (who weren't much good the first time!)

eh, there are a lot of annoyances, but on the whole the game's pretty great. might try a master ninja run.
