At this point, they're trying to put so much hardcore content out there, that when PS3 owners ask about RPGs for their system or Japanese niche titles (Star Ocean, Beautiful Katamari, Ace Combat, Culdcept Saga, etc.)... they have to give the 360 an honest look.

Last Remnant is made by Romancing SaGa team. That's apparently a turn-off for some people (who have horrible taste), but I'm interested in it only because of the staff involved. I want to root for Naora, Takai, Koizumi (I hope) and co., but unfortunately nothing else I've seen from it has looked good or interesting to me at all.

Well if you dont care for achievements (you get 1000 just for beating it), then you should probably give up. The story is pretty straight-forward and doesn't really break any rules.

I thought it was a very safe and solid C-C+ game. Being the first HD RPG helped, at least.

The Tales game is also not as detailed, I think that is also a factor

i'm sure it is. however tri-ace should have designed the game to get 60fps. if that meant gimping the graphics - so be it.

their battle engines always rely on fast fluid combat. 30fps might work in IU, but if star ocean 4s combat system is anything like 3s, it needs to be 60fps.

out of those only The Last Remnant seems interesting as it is more mature and violent, and based on the trailer its cinematics are of a very high quality, though I still think that in the end it will be cheesy... as far as the Tri-Ace games and the Tales of game are concerned I'm definitely not thrilled, as these are yet more generic, shallow japanese RPGs incorporating the cringe-worthy cliches that we all developed a love/hate relationship with

I'll play all of these but without getting into them, and certainly not to completion... mostly to check out the graphics' quality

at this point I've just matured immensely and moved on, when it's not a strategy RPG or a game by Atlus or Matsuno I can't get worked up over it... I look forward to Fallout 3, Alpha Protocol, Obsidian's Aliens RPG, Mass Effect 2&3, Dragon Age, Big Huge Games' RPG and others instead

White Knight Chronicles looks pretty epic, but Level-5's stories and characters are simply generic and awful... Final Fantasy XIII will probably have fantastic cutscenes and a great presentation but I fear that it will play and look more like Kingdom Hearts or Crisis Core than Final Fantasy

Yeah, what we've seen of the storyline and setting of Star Ocean 4 is definitely not cliche... Seems like a cross between Fallout and Phantasy Star, and of course it'll have a requisite ton of Star Trek references in it.

Seems to have a pretty interesting story. I was getting pumped until the two main characters walk on the screen.
