Jezebel is the Gawker attempt to conquer the "Smart Fem" market. And it's working! Total Gawker in action, their writing is usually pretty good and while their talk was modestly offensive, I think it's a whole hell of a lot more honest than anything else I've heard

and stab out the eyes of all of my friends

i have a guy who reads it religiously and and posts links which have an unessecary degree of snark and manufactured blog hip.

why the fuck do you take the tone of "we're too cool for this blog" when your primary audience is nerds?

also, don't talk down to your audience

I have a love/hate relationship with Gawker. They pretty much created a new genre, but they're also petty and spiteful. Which is why it's fun when you're in on the joke and terrible when you're not.

I've read it before and that blog gives me mixed thoughts.

I'm glad feminism is moving away from the "all sex is rape" feminism that Catharine MacKinnon and Andrea Dworkin had nailed down since the late 1970s until a couple years ago.  On the other hand, making light of rape and sexual violence isn't really the best step.  I do believe that third wave feminism will achieve greater equality in the long run, whereas second wave tried to create a hyperpolarized environment where even most women abandoned feminism because of the nuttery espoused by the leading feminists 20 years ago.

Hmm.  Intersting.  AMusing.  I remember Lizz Winstead for co-creating the phenomenal Daily Show.

Moe: "I guess, I like, regret being date raped"

Moe: "It seems like in terms of bad sexual experiences, that you have, the worst ones are in, always seem to be in countries where sex is not accepted. That is the good thing about New York, I've never has any problems with anyone here."

Moe: "I guess third guy, I ever had sex with, date raped me, and I got very mad at him, but I wasn't gonna fucking like turn him in to the police and fucking go through shit..

Lizz interrupts: "Why not, you see that's the problem, why not, I am just curious?"

Moe: Because it was a load of trouble and I had better things to do, like drinking more."

Too lazy and preoccupied to report your own rape? haha, wow.
