Anyone else using this? I was looking forward to the dreamscene stuff but it just will not install. It fails over and over to install.  ???

Dude,I'm an IT guy and I need to start supporting Vista for my company. Dell is going to cut the XP Pro chord soon so I have to start using it to make sure there is a seamless crossover for the company using Vista.

You can call me a fanboy all day long in the gaming section. This is not that section.

I'm using Vista Ultimate 64 bits. Never used vista before, to all the haters saying vista sucks and XP is better, lol get real.

I thought this was going to be a mess, this shit is stable, fast, and comfortable. Great OS so far.

Direct from MS
September 2007 Windows XP Professional SP2c available to system builders from their distributors.
November 2007 Re-release of Windows XP Professional SP2 to correct error in the localized builds of SP2c which is presenting end users with English content.
January 31, 2008 End-of-life for product availability of Windows XP for all channels except system builder.
January 31, 2009 End-of-life for product availability of Windows XP for builders.

Which means we will be moving to Vista within the next 6 months. Many of are clients use Vista now. IMO, we are kind of behind. Our biggest problem is that neither of the 2 VPNs we use work on Vista. ::) One will blue screen Vista when it is launched and the other just flat out doesn't work.

We still use an ol Intel VPN called Shiva. We are phasing that out soon though. That is what blues screens Vista. Yeah, we use the Cisco one which requires no installed client. just go to Network Connection and then create a new connection. My boss has it almost working since the problem is in our firewall.

Word. There is a big push here for virtualization. Last week I had to set up Vista business in Japanese, Spanish, and Chinese traditional in virtual PCs for language conversion of our software client and utilities. It's definitely saving us money.

How much was the Juniper system?

I use Ulimate, but dreamscene is a novelty that you'll be dazzled with for the first few days using Ultimate (like I did). It looks cool, but takes up too much resources. I do like my glass + max transprancy windows and taskbar. Looks awesome.

I use Ultimate, quite like it.  Don't use the dreamscape thing or whatever.  It was an optional install, right?  I didn't really do any of those, they all looked like screensavers and more versions of minesweeper/solitare/ma-jong

Basically. I have glass+transparency but everything else is a resource hog. I love Vista though.
