There's clearly not going to be a FFV remake this year, so if SE does one, then I can see them releasing FFV late next year. By 2010 even Nintendo will have to realize that the DS is becoming seriously outdated (tech wise - what with all these new, powerful systems/portables coming out) and they'll have to release another system - perhaps SE will do FFVI for the DS2?

To be fair, Sony does make the PSP as well. So PE3 and that other A something FF13 game are now both on PSP. That is something at least.

I dled AC when it first came out in Japan. Said I'd never buy it. But this is coming with a demo, so I'm buying it for the demo, not the movie. I always play FF demos. I played FF8 and 10's demos over and over and over. FF10's demo was one of the best demos ever.

I played the FF10 demo a bunch, but I never payed for that. I just got it for free with my OPM subscription. The idea of paying for a demo (I do own GT5p though! har har har) is a bit much. I am hoping that it makes its way onto PSN soon after.

I would pay for a demo.

I bought Dragon Quest VIII for Dragon Quest VIII, but it coming with a demo of FFXII made it even sweeter.

FF games are the only games I buy demos for. I bought the Underground demo disc back when it came out with FFX. I got Musashiden when it came out for FFVIII's demo, AND the OPM that came with FFVIII's demo.

I'm such a Final Fantasy slut.

I don't know actually. Advent Children is really bad.

Advent Children > Spirits Within by a large margin, but it is still pure fan-service. I enjoy it for the visuals and the insanely good soundtrack.

FFX is one of the best ps2 rpgs imo.

It was the game that made me hate JRPGS.

The 3rd time I had to fight... whatever the fuck his name is... the last boss, I gave up. I hated all of the characters, except the guy with the sunglasses.

Seymour is not the final boss.

FFX rocks, haters suck;etc.

I don't even remember what Spirits Within was about anymore. Advent Children had some good fight scenes, and a lot of it was really cheesy, and I enjoyed parts of it, but I don't know if it is worth importing on blu-ray. The movie as a whole was stupid. Maybe the extra content that is being added makes it less bad.

And FFX-2 did have a really good battle system, but not the best in the series or anything. I still wasn't a big fan of either X or X-2 because of the lame characters, story, and settings. Yuna is such a horrible character and I wanted to vomit every time she was in a cutscene. It didn't help that I had this feeling with every character except Jecht, Auron, and Wakka. I'm sure I am forgetting one or two people. Blitzball was also pretty fun! I still don't get the hate for it.

If FFX-2 didn't have the best battle system in the series, what does? ATB before FFX-2 isn't nearly as good and FFXII's battle system sucks. FFI-III's turn based fights aren't nearly as interesting as FFX-2 ATB either!

Probably FFX. And FFXII is different. I don't exactly consider it worse or better since it isn't trying to to copy what was set before it. I enjoyed it for what it was. FFV is another one of my favorite FF battle systems.

And arguing about Battle Systems is always funny because I still think the pinnacle of RPG battle systems was in 2000 with Grandia 2. No battle system since has been more enjoyable than that.

as someone who doesn't really play many final fantasy games, i enjoyed advent children. had a lot of nice action and it was relentless with it's action--for me, it was like a predecessor to movies like Shoot'em Up and Wanted.

Oh, its import only? Not sure I liked it THAT much.

VP2 and other games were very enjoyable, but still nothing has trumped Grandia 2. Yeah, Grandia Xtreme was very good, maybe in some ways better than Grandia 2, but it was still the same battle system. It wasn't a big enough leap to where I consider it the pinnacle or anything.

I think Grandia's battle system is overrated. People say it's still the king when I think games like the ps2 SMT's, VP2, and Dragon Quarter kick any Grandia's ass.

VP2 battle system is badass. Sphere system is ultimate ownage. You can totally manipulate shit to get the upper hand in everything you do.

Grandia 3 had some cool aspects that it added, but yeah, the game was bad. I remembering so excited for it, but it got messed up big time. Grandia 2 or Xtreme should just be ported to the PSP and that will make me happy.
