says it has an eight-way input, but cosmetically is the same

i'll stick with the two cheap madcatz controllers i have, which, surprisingly for madcatz, have better d-pads than either the 360 or the ps3 (the sticks suck, though)

Why come everyone just complains about d-pads?  Even if the d-pad is fixed, the button placement still kinda sucks for fighting games.

Where are the high quality arcade sticks that our Japanese counterparts get?

I think I'm just gonna have to save some money and get a stick from arcadeinabox when they finally come up with something that's compatible with both PS3 & 360.

the d-pad was horrible for oblivion, and any game which uses it as a quick-weapon select, so it's not just fighting games

True. The 360 dpad has been a mild annoyance in DMC4 on the PC ever since I began the Dante levels.  Every now and then, I switch to the wrong mode.  Luckily, on the PC, I have the option of switching to a Dualshock2.
