I've been talking shit about Too Human since early 2006.  Everyone screamed at me how I biased I was for not getting a boner about this philosophically shattering experience.  I kept talking shit and I was 100% right.

Once my time of gloating is done, I'll be bored.  Probably be when the first month of sales come in and after it sells like shit, I'll be done with Dyack for good.  No need to beat the dead horse.

I've been going to GAF for too fucking long.  I started going there 10 years ago.  Back then, it was still full of assholes, but at least then they had some respect for eachother.  And shit, the mods weren't the biggest douchebags in the place either.  My how things have changed.  The place just makes me mad now.

Shit, I don't know why I went in there again.  I think its pretty fucking lame what EvilLore did in there.  He makes a big thread to let everyone know that he banned Dennis?  And on top of that, in true internet fucking nerd fashion, he links to some animated gifs to make his points?  I'm laughing out loud here, but not the way he intended.  I mean if you're the leader of a forum as big as GAF, have some level of professionalism for fuck's sake.  I guess the place has been going downhill like I said anyway, but still. 

What really bugged me was EL calling out Skip from 1UP.  He said some shit like "You guys let Dyak take over your show and spew a bunch of bullshit! etc. etc."  Thing is, Dennis was 100% right about everything he said.  Maybe if you isolate certain statements and just focus on those in a smaller context, it sounds overboard.  Like closing NeoGAF because its hurting society.  He wasn't literally calling for its closure, he was merely making a point about how the mods don't follow their own rules.  I think if you really listen to everything he had to say and make an honest attempt at processing it, it makes a lot of sense.  EL is a douchebag for not trying to learn anything from this.

I'll like that to be true.  But to be honest, the whole incident proably won't make any difference. 

Uncharted is proof that what goes on at that forum has little impact on the gaming world.

The poor reviews at Gamespot and IGN are far more important and will be the final nails in Dyack's hopes of extending TH to a trilogy.

the funny thing is that GAF served Dyack's purpose - even now he's banned it's making the news of other gaming sites , keeping Dyack's name up there, and helping to propel his game to bigger sales heights.

People mistakenly seem to think this is about passing the buck for the games quality some how onto GAF or preemptively passing the "low sales" buck , but it doesn't look like the latter of those two problems exist - even more so now that everyone , even if they know the game will be donkey balls, will rush out to try it to see what all the fuss was about.

I doubt that.  Dyack didn't really win anything here.  The only people on his side are die hard Xfags, those who are bitter about GAF because they were banned from that place, and a smattering of forum anarchists who go against the grain for the lulz.  That is it.  People will read the threads for the fuss but people on the internet love a good ownage and Dyack's self ownage is probably one of the best examples.  Will it translate to any Too Human sales?  A few hundred at the very most since nobody is going to give enough of a fuck to spend $60 on this pile because the creator is batshit.  After all, Kane and Lynch sold a million units during the supposed raging controversy at Gamespot.

On the other hand, Too Human has been advertised poorly and it isn't a sequel to some smash hit so it is essentially a high key release on the internet but little anywhere else.  I predict it will sell a few hundred thousand copies overall, which could be considered a success but given all the money and time spent on the project, anything less than 2-3 million copies overall will make it seem not worth it at all...and that is what Microsoft executives will be paying attention to.
