Yeah, that is ridiculous.  I usually just browse on my PC and get surprised when it finally finishes loading.

pure was fun but I'm not into the trick system and the games feel different. they're both really entertaining, but i definitely think there's room for both. i'm not into trick = boost type systems because I can never focus on the road, but it was certainly an interesting diversion

there wouldn't be anything left of pure if you got rid of the tricks -- at least going by the demo track. it's just a series of jumps

Yeah, the tricks are what make up Pure.  That is kind of why I don't want to buy it.  It is a solid formula that probably won't hold up for me over time.  It isn't even like the Excite Truck style of play where you have various ways to build up points by driving differently or anything.

It does indeed look better (though we have proof that the MS2 demo is taken from an old build as the more recent builds look much better), but it plays so differently that I wouldn't compare the two.

I do like Pure, but I was really disappointed in how they chose to handle the tracks.  I don't think the game lends itself well to tracks.  I was really hoping for huge SSX (or Downhill Domination)-like moutains to tackle.  With the emphasis on huge jumps and everything, they felt pretty constricted due to the small track.
