Use it as a phone checking e-mail, sending messages, web use...that kind of thing, and it's fine. I charge mine daily as I did my previous keitai. But use it download apps or watch videos, and watch that battery get sucked dry!
I like the phone and like you, it really isn't costing me much more than my previous keitai bill, but I do miss some features that like EVERY OTHER PHONE OUT THERE HAS, including emoticons, keitai browser sites (if you need to get to a site only accessable on a keitai, forget about it), e-wallet, that kind of thing. It also can't take video footage, L-O-L.
I got mine for internet browsing. You can't beat safari. I find I can type much faster on it than my regular phone. The SMS is also great, although my friend says he can't seem to text me more than 70 characters in each message. I like the way you can easily have multiple mailboxes, so my softbank and g-mail accounts are set-up to be checked with ease. It really just depends on if you can live with the shorter-than-usual battery life (which is honestly not as bad as I had heard...used it like crazy on a heavy travel day, including 5 hour train ride back to Ishikawa from Tokyo and even after HEAVY use including web browsing while listening to music, the battery hit 20% by the time I got home) and lack of some normal features. It's like a step forward and a step back.
