Hypothetically, if the religion turns out to be false after we die, what do we lose? We'll just endure an eternal lifeless abyss if there truly isn't an afterlife. And while an afterlife can't be proven, the lack of one can't be proven either, so the possibility is certainly still there.
Well, you'd have lost all that time praying to a fictional god, going to church, and worrying about engaging in certain activities for fear of eternal retribution.
And, no, the afterlife can't be disproved. But you have two main alternatives:
Your mind, along with all your mental abilities, is simply the product of your physical brain. If your brain is damaged, you will suffer mental impairment. When you brain dies, you will die. This view is simple, elegant, and scientific.
Or
Your mind is a ghost in the machine--a non-physical spirit that somehow magically interacts with your physical body. This supernatural spirit will survive the body's death and travel to a magical land to spend an eternity with loved ones, floating a top of clouds while listening to harp music.
Hollywood is just a wrestling fan. You shouldn't group him with Christians.
Either way, he's cheering on fakery.
Fuck all of you, nobody gives a fuck about any of you.
