And I forgot pervy sexist Itagaki.

And Rubin is a tool for lifting levels from Mario games to stick in his Crash games, then coming back with the virtual Douchebag of Jak and talking about 'attitude'. Jesus Christ. Don't diss what you steal from.

It's either Derek Smart or Dennis Dyack, I can't choose.

Oh, wait...

:rofl

Yeah, Dyack gets compared to ol' "Dr." Derek Smart a lot, (even Malka saying that Dyack surpassed him) but it's really not even close.

Dyack at least worked on several high-profile and well-received games before Too Human; Derek Smart was some dude with a fake doctorate who was claiming his first game would revolutionize PC gaming.
Too Human is mediocre; Battlecruiser 3000AD was literally unplayable.
Dyack popped up once every three weeks or so on GAF to post something stupid or maybe trade a few arguments with a detractor before leaving; Derek Smart spent hours upon hours on IRC every day getting into long flamewars.
Dyack got butthurt by a message board; Derek Smart attacked a Coke machine in his publisher's lobby.

But of course, it's almost hard to classify Derek Smart as an actual part of "the gaming industry" seeing how he was such an abject failure.
This post deserves a headbanging Castle Crasher.

a big budget doesn't magically make him uber-talented now does it

same with Mizuguchi for 99 Nights (a far worse game by all accounts). Talented, well-meaning people are frequently involved in sub-par games.

It is the worst game that I have ever played. That bad. If Blue Dragon is worse still, then he's an even bigger douche than I had thought.

Is he the biggest tool because he acts like one or is it because a bunch of 300 lb pasty nerds think him on the same level as Voltaire or Shakespeare?

Yeah, I'm nearly speechless at its incredible shittiness too. God damn what an abomination. Is this what JRPGs are usually like?

I'd rather play an eternity of Lost Odyseey, than the last 3 Final Fantasy games.

If LO is the worst game you've ever played, you haven't played many games, and as such we shouldn't take your opinion on games seriously in the slightest.

ROFL, I was going to post this too.

I played what I need to play to know that it's rotten at its core. Ring achievement, does that involve that ring attack crap? The shit you get in the section that comes after slogging away in the dumbest battle ever (that machine before the meteor)? But hey, at least in combat you aren't tricked into thinking that you can actually go exploring, only to be interrupted by a cutscene (in-game or CG) nearly immediately after they give you shit control over the character. It's also awesome how there is a fucking load screen every 30ft (or less) of barren, ugly environment. Pure shit, this one.

And no, I haven't played a lot of JRPGs. That doesn't make this any less shit. And people complain about MGS4 not having enough game in it, good grief. This makes MGS seem like your common action brawler.

Biggest dick : me , clearly. Let me check yours gamertags!

Well, apparently you're too good to accept my friend request.  :gloomy

Your credibility is dropping faster than Dyack's.

No doubt, and for the record I dont like RPG's either. I just think LO is one of the better ones in recent memory.

I've never played a Final Fantasy game. I played some RPGs on Gamecube, like that Tales game which was a ton better than this garbage, and some game called Baten Kaitos, which was lame, but not as aggressively shit as this one.

Lost Odyssey and Blue Dragon were two of the freshest RPGs I had played in the past few years.

Ah, the weekly "Hate on Gamedesigner" thread....

I choose Miyamoto. He gets his name and fame plastered on everything Nintendo releases, even if he had no other input than pissing on the developers of said release.

Plus his "sensual Sax performance" at the E3. Oh my god, what a complete fool he made of himself there...

i wasn't including quality of games in my vote.  you can be a tool and still put out good games.  although all forms of DOA are awful.

WTF is wrong with Lost Odyssey? It's got its flaws (what game doesn't?) but like others said, it was certainly much better than the last few FF games. Ditto for Blue Dragon... not sure if I preferred BD or LO though when all things are said and done.

Apparently Duckman hasn't played past the first area? I am speechless... who judges 50+ hour long RPGs on the first half hour?

Well, who in the hell puts 50+ hours into this kind of rotten garbage? Walk a few steps in a shitty looking landscape, kick something to get a treasure, then walk straight into super dramatic showdown number 00019. But hey, at least that beats walking through tiny environments from elevator to elevator, or suffering through one of those poorly directed, shit looking cut-scenes with fancy fancy split-screen stuff.
