I guess this is what the slow start the 1up review mentioned was all about.

And it looks like the bowing guy is bowing towards IU in the title while turning his back on ToV. Does ToV get boring later on or something?

Any review of ToV where they say the combat is mashy = person didnt play it. There's no way they got past 'the wolf' in the early game by mashing. Hell even the very first fight cant be mashed.

How many hours have you played? According to 1UP's review, it only starts getting good around the 3 hour mark or so.

Lost Odyssey was entirely different. TriAce games are essentially action based RPGs, when you get right down to it. LO was a traditional turn based game.

I thought IU looked better than LO, though. Lost Odyssey was pretty unpolished looking with lots of odd technical glitches, poor character models (the hair was just awful), and tons of loading and framerate problems. IU seems to have its own share of problems as well (which is odd for a TriAce game as they usually aim for 60 fps), but it looks more polished than Lost Odyssey based on the videos Blim has hosted.

The camera seems perfectly fine to me (it's a free camera afterall, so you are expected to control it) and the combat looks like fun (though the framerate drops seem pretty bad). I'm looking for more impressions from people who have experience with other TriAce games.

ToV and IU look like generic and very boring jrpg's. I don't want to play them. Especially not after reading the reviews.

It pretty much marked the end of the series. They're scrambling now to try to fix it... it's why 13 is back to turn-based

They tried something else. FFXII was really refreshing IMO. The gambit system was pretty awesome for grinding too.
But I'm also glad FFXIII is going to be turn-based where you can control each character. My favorite jrpg battle modus.

I can't play action RPG's for a long period of time. Except for KH. That's why I'm not really hyped for IU and TOV. $:-\$

Interesting game so far, very refined (even with the lack of VA in lots of cinemas), nice graphics and good music. I was playing in the forest, but I'm still trying to grasp the control scheme, and some of the button presses (especially skills with the extraneous characters) feel a bit unresponsive.

I'm in the Oradian Dunes @ Level 11... lots of characters. You can make seperate parties of 4, who are on the same field as you. Pretty wild. I think I missed an achievement, but I have a save at that part, so I can go back if someone figures it out.

Camera is shitty, I hate its face. Team Assist attacks are obnoxious. Yes make me jump through a few layers of menus to get slow manual aim access to my archer chick so I can shoot the barrels I cant just target with the main guy.

I think I was supposed to kill the troopers on the way but the ogre kept pace to fast and sat on my face so I kept running, then at the end I was supposed to shoot specific exploding barrels with archer chick but the archers and soldiers and ogre kept breaking my archer out of aim so I just gave up and hit the barrel with my sword and took 250 damage to pass the zone.

Demi, how do I target barrels with my main?

The dark forest has good intentions but quit making my map fade out, and dont get me started on the obnoxious rotten fruit mechanic. Yeah I need fucking bees all over my face.

Please tell me dungeons get less annoying after this. Feels like the scenario was designed by an MGS fan hosting a D&D game.
