So they stole something from The Bore and didn't give proper credit?  :yuck

Yea I remember Robin Hood sounding pretty interesting initially, when it was about the Sheriff. Then it turned into a PG-13 Gladiator apparently. I'll check out the director's cut, although I doubt it'll  be interesting either. How many times is a studio going to dick Scott around

NEw York Ripper

I can see why there's a huge cult appeal to this movie, it's full of weird sexual deviations and explicit violence against women but it's not great by any means.  It's ok for the genre it's really too reliant on the exploitative elements for my personal tastes.

The Blind Side

It's an okay movie. It's just that...I'm kinda sick of the whole "black people don't know how to have a family" trope. To make matters worse this movie infuses that trope with the magical nergo cliche', featuring a whole assortment of white guilt-esque storytelling. Still enjoyable though due to the solid screen writing and acting. Sandra Bullock has never been hotter.

the story hits home a lot more after watching bonus features, including interviews with the real Michael Oher. Makes me think a lot better of the movie now that I know how factual the story is.

The Last House on the Left

I felt it was a pretty affective thriller. Dug the main father character (on both sides of the coin). Violence at the end felt pretty visceral, until the very end that is. Final scene was really bad and pointless.

The Green Mile

I liked it.  :-[

The Princess and the Frog

Didn't like it. Songs were utterly forgettable, way too many annoying kiddie antics (horrible talking animals/bugs/etc). And how come all the white people in this movie are kinda...negative characters   >:(

That's actually one of the only things I liked about the film. That all the white people were batshit insane. The rest was kinda shit. "First Black Princess" is bullshit because for most of the movie she isn't one, and the two black main characters are frogs the whole movie. FUCK Disney :maf!

Beyond The Law

it's part of a 20 movie pack of Spaghetti Westerns I bought on the cheap to get an idea of the genre.  This starred Lee Van Cleef as a thief who goes straight, so straight that he becomes a sheriff.  It's ok.  Not very violent or anything, with a strong redemptive factor.  Good cinematography, odd score (half jazzy half bombastic pomp).

The Wall

Since I love Pink Floyd and am particularly fond of The Wall album, I decided to check this out.

What the flying fuck am I watching? This movie is really strange, I've seen stranger but I didn't expect this movie to be like that. I understood the albums story and all, but the movie really shows it in a weird way or at least to me it does. The acting was OK but other than a few spoken lines it might as well have been a silent movie with Pink Floyd music. The animation scenes were good but overdone and over animated, they could have made the animated movements a little better.

I really don't know how to feel after watching it, I guess I liked it, but not very much. Its not really bad but it isn't really a masterpiece either. Even if I some what enjoyed it I don't recommend it

And now I wonder if the Tommy movie is any good.

I'll help: you feel resentment towards vaginas and an uneasy attraction to awful singing and fascism.

Tommy is much better.

The Informant!

For everything that this movie does right, it's Matt Damon that really makes this work and holds everything together. He carefully balances naive likability with slimy repulsiveness [particularly late in the movie] so well. Ultimately, it's a fairly forgettable film, no one's really going to remember much about it in a few years time, but it's fun watch and nothing that's really going to overwhelm you with drama or anything overly serious. I'd still recommend it though, probably it would be most enjoyed by the same sort of people that liked movies such as Burn After Reading or In the Loop.

That's been on my list for awhile so I'll try and grab it. I was wondering if it would be funny and forgettable, or if it would turn weird and dark. Doesn't sound like the latter happens.

It does get a bit dark towards the end, but it never feels like that darkness overwhelms the humorous side of the story except for maybe one particular scene.

Depends on the girth.  Total volume, usually in cubic centimeters or cubic millimeters for Asians and some whites, is the only way to accurately measure penile size.

Good movie but I felt that Naomi Watts' character was a little underdeveloped and there really wasn't much action for a gangsta flick although that bathroom fight was just about the most intense fight scene ever.

I'll give it props, it's rare for a horror film to make me squirm but the surgeon in this is genuinely disturbing. It helps that the film has somewhat of a dark sense of humor about the whole thing since

spoiler (click to show/hide)
the human centipede itself pretty much takes up half of movie. I found the ending pretty twisted and chilling,
[close]

and, despite the subject matter, the film is thankfully pretty reserve in its grotesqueness. Probably the only decent horror film I've seen so far this year (I'd also include Sauna but that came out a while back). Check it out if you think you can stomach it.

Southland Tales

Epic experience.  Totally a mess and not a good film by any means but very ambitious and I'll take an ambitious bad film any day over a non-ambitious good film.  It was like Lynch meets Brazil and written by a 13 year old with Richard Kelley's talented scene direction.  On anything it was actually trying to say politically the film fails completey.  But as a post-apocalyptic sci-fi piece, it's at least as interesting and entertaining, random and ridiculous as your average rpg or anime.

Was definitely worth watching.  I think Kelley has built up a nice portfolio at this point with 3 films that have nice direction, style and are pretty varied.  I'll definitely look out for anything he does in the future.

and omg Jon Lovitz cameo.
