Half of Pixar's films are really good
The other half are kinda average and overrated

Problem is that everyone has a different opinion of which film goes in which bucket.

Up, Toy Story I and II, Monsters Inc and Wall-E are definitely incredible and classics.

Actually, no, I loved Ratatouille.  Here's my rankings for the umpteenth time:

1) Wall-E
2) Up
3) Toy Story
4) Ratatouille
5) The Incredibles
6) Toy Story 2
7) Monster's Inc.
8 ) Finding Nemo
9) A Bug's Life
10) Cars

The last three I don't care for.  The rest, though, I love to varying degrees.

I can't imagine anybody being a full-on Pixar hater.  I'm not a rabid fan of the company, but even their lowest tier films (Cars, lets say) equals out quality wise to the best efforts of any other CGI movies out there (Cloudy With a Chance of Meatballs for example).

Their movies are generally peerless when it comes to actual tech and visual innovation, even the aforementioned Cars just looks terrific all the way through.  If there's any company wide flaw you can sling at them, its that their "outsider-redemptive" stories could be getting formulaic, but their plots and settings never are so that doesn't stick so well.

Really, I consider Pixar to be a positive force in the movie world, and I'm very glad that kids and families have good, quality material to enjoy together without a trace of the nominal crap that infects most other family movies.  No cynicism here, Pixar is good.

Oh, and I'd put Ratatouille at the bottom half, but its not bad by any means.

Watched Up this weekend. It was somewhat entertaining, but I felt it was a movie aimed at children.

I don't get all the love for the Pixar movies, they are entertaining to me at best.

spoiler (click to show/hide)
Watching Wall-E would've been a waste of time if I didn't see it on a plane.

What's with all the positive MacGruber reviews?  Does this surprise anyone else?  I never thought the MacGruber skits on SNL were all that great and when I saw they were making a movie about it I was expecting another piece of garbage from Lorne Michaels but after reading some of the reviews, I'm a little curious now.  Sounds like it might actually be funny.
