The end is what pushed The Mist into greatness territory, or as far as a B movie can get to that.  I can completely understand people having a severe negative reaction to it but I loved how brutally dark it got.  I'm not sure how I'd feel about the film if it ended differently.  Not as positive, that's for sure.

My only problem with the ending is the score; the overblown Middle Eastern chorus set to slow motion was so overdone by then (Ridley Scott, I'm looking at you!). Kind of took me out of the film. Other than that, B+ would watch again

Yeah that would've been more powerful and it was kind of a M. Night Shyamalan moment, but I didn't mind too much.

It would've been awesome if at the end he took one of the rifles from one of the soilders and offed himself right by the pickup.

My theory about Observe and Report is that it only would have made sense with Danny McBride as the lead.  The movie that was released is okay, but Rogen couldn't elevate the script, whereas McBride + Mall Cop is intrinsically funny no matter what the actual plot of the film was.

It had marijuana and heroine.

But I'm just saying it was completely random and funny in a juvenile way.  It did not focus on the actual process of getting stoned or dealing drugs or whatever, but it was very, very funny while high.

We had to switch over to Alice in Wonderland. What a shitty movie. But she liked it.

Holmes will return to the big screen once more on Dec. 16 ... 2011. (It couldn't possibly premiere much later than that, because the following month, the world will end, right?)

Other release dates discussed today during a presentation given by Warner Brothers chairman and CEO Barry Meyer (some of which had been announced previously) include:

Red Riding Hood: April 22, 2011
Green Lantern (3D): June 17
Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part II (3-D): July 15
Journey to the Center of the Earth 2 (3-D): Sept. 23
Happy Feet 2 (3-D): Nov. 18
Batman: July 20, 2012
Superman: Holiday season 2012
Meyer added that the studio is also "nearing" a green light for a "Flash" movie, with films featuring Wonder Woman, Aquaman and Mad magazine characters also in development.

Cold Souls

It tiptoes a fine line between religious film and science fiction, making for a rather unique film. It's closest cousins would be something like Synedoche, New York or The Fountain. The premise of the film is that the soul is a physical thing, something that can be removed and then re-implanted at will or you can even implanted someone else's soul into your body. At the same time, maybe there's a bit more to it than that. It asks a lot of questions and give some answers, but given the nature of the questions themselves not all of them are going to be fully answered. Also, Paul Giamatti really owns this movie. He plays it toned-down most of the time, but when he gets going it's really something to see. The movie's probably worth watching just for those scenes, actually, but it's nice that the rest of the movie is pretty good too.

His first time seeing it? Awesome

I've told this story before but Wrath hasn't heard it so there: I used to play basketball for this Christian private school, and one day while riding the bus to a game I overheard one of my teammates talking about Star Wars to another kid. He was basically explaining the entire plot of the movie to this kid, who seemed completely enthralled. He ended what I assumed to be his Empire Strikes Back recap by saying "and then Darth Vader cut off Luke's hand, and get this: he told him he was really his father all along." The kid was like "no way!" Not long afterwards I found out the kid wasn't allowed to watch any Hollywood films. I still remember the first time I saw the Star Wars films, sometime I can only say for a few films (Toy Story, Jurassic Park, Raiders). I felt so bad for that kid  :-\

That's depressing.  My mom took me to see Jurassic Park 8 times in theaters.  Same with The Lion King.  Shit was bananas.  My mom had a movie obsession just like me so it worked out perfectly.

On the other side, I missed most TV shows when I was little.  My dad refused to let us watch a lot of TV.  so people talk about shows (doogie and shit) and I can't relate or half of them I never heard of.  I discovered most of my generation's shows through re runs

My parents were strict but at the same time they would let us in on things they loved. So for instance, my mom has always been a huge sci fi/horror fan, so she let me watch Alien, Aliens, Terminator (skipping the sex scene of course), and Terminator 2 at a pretty young age. They wouldn't let me watch Robocop though, even after my uncle bought the VHS for us as a gift. I remember sneaking to watch it late at night, and it got stuck in the VHS player and I couldn't get it out  :lol

On the other hand, I wasn't allowed to watch many of the sitcons of that time, like Fresh Prince, Simpsons, etc. They let me watch Full House and Family Matters though. And they let me watch Xena and Hercules luckily

My dad let me watch It and Robocop and all sorts of shit :)  But no shows though

And I couldn't say the word "butt" or "fart" because they were dirty words.  We said... *sigh*... "behind" and "pooted".  This was only when my dad was married to a super religious chick by the way.  and she also didn't let me have Magic cards because they were evil and she made me watched while she burned one of my treasure trolls :'(  And I got beat quite a few times for saying the word "sex".  We also couldn't watch the simpsons because it promoted bad behavior.

Cap's costume:
Quote
Now the folks over at JoBlo are saying that they've seen an "approved costume test" from the film. Apparently, Cap will wear two different sets of duds -- we've heard this before, as he'll have the costume he wears for his USO appearances that's more flashy and then his actual active duty suit which will be more appropriate for combat. The latter is the one JoBlo saw, and also, it would seem, the primary costume in the film. Here's what we can expect:

-- The wings on the cowl are gone.
-- The cowl itself is gone too, replaced by a traditional Army helmet (ala The Ultimates).
-- The "A" on the forehead remains.
-- As with the entire suit, the blue is much more muted than in the comics.
-- The white star on the chest remains but is not as prominent as in the comics.
-- Instead of red and white stripes on the abdomen, this costume just has a white base with two red utility belts acting as stripes. "These belts affix to a metal loop at the midpoint of the chest and a black strap extends up to the shoulders from that point," says the site.
-- The fabric appears to be a sort of leather, ala the X-Men films.
-- There's an old-school utility belt with a buckle and pockets.
-- The shield is very close to the classic design.

Just watched the whole original Star Wars original trilogy unaltered with my kid brother who's seeing it for the first time, sooooo good.

Empire is still my favorite, and despite the inclusion of ewoks I fucking love Return Of The Jedi. The original Star Wars is still awesome but not in the same league of TESB and ROTJ. My brother fucking loved them!

Blasphemy. Jedi is shit.
