Hey, what if Darren Aronofsky isn't doing Wolverine at all, instead, he's tackling some other movie entirely that sounds almost too badical to be true.
Quote from: holy crap, really!  Wow, this is way better then Wolverine 2
The Tiger is an adaptation of John Vaillant's non-fiction book about a game warden who must protect a Siberian town when a tiger begins attacking its inhabitants, with Brad Pitt attached to star - but there's a bit more!

In a new interview with Guillermo Arriaga, who's adapting The Tiger for Aronofsky, the writer said that the film will shoot next year and that, apparently, Angelina Jolie will star along with her partner Brad Pitt. Huh? This is the first time we've ever heard it and considering how popular Jolie is, we usually know if she's interested in something, but I guess not. Arriaga also says he's traveling to New York a lot (where Aronofsky is based) and "would be doing a tour of Siberia to check locations" in November. So if we're to believe every word he says (and none of it was lost in translation), this may be the very next feature film for Aronofsky.

Hell, I could get financing to direct that movie with that lineup.  Forget for a moment that The Ghost and the Darkness isn't that great, this sounds just llike it but way better.  Give a cameo to Val Kilmer as tiger food, he could use the work.

Somehow I doubt Brad and Angelina are really burning to go on holiday in Siberia together. And get eaten by tigers.

That movie isn't happening anymore. Aronofsky officially signed on to direct Wolverine next.

Sixteen Candles had tits, I dont think Breakfast Club had any nudity. Honestly though, Sixteen Candles I find to be far more enjoyable. And it has nothing to do with the fact I was named after a character from it.

That pretty much fits every John Hughes movie for me now. I have seen them all so many times growing up (though I think that fits basically everyone around our age) that they start to bore me.

I in a way feel bad for marvel. They have obsessively built up to The Avengers but it is going to be completely overshadowed by Nolan's The Dark Knight Rising that summer. Although they are pitting a amateur like Joss Whedon against Christopher Nolan. They have to know it's a lost cause already.

Hey, both Goldeneye and Casino Royale were great films if you just looked at the directing. Edge of Darkness wasn't half bad for a movie that took an entire television series and condensed it.

I agree. As some other people have been wondering about the possibility of a 4th Batman movie from Nolan... I think this one should have been something different and then the 4th one should be called The Dark Knight Returns. With old Batman and shit.

But all of this is just silly talk of course. Let's first see this upcoming movie before judging it and making wild speculations about the future of these movies.

Martin Campbell made the only two half-decent Bond movies in two decades.  He established the last two new Bond actors before others came along and shitted things up.  Hopefully for the next Bond, he can come back for Tom Hardy's debut as the character.  Or just let Nolan do it.

Though, I'll admit that the guy doing Captain America has a bunch of bad movies that I happened to enjoy like The Rocketeer.

as for the Batman title, I think three movies are enough.  Basically, all three together will probably define the Batman character that we're used to.  I mean, in The Dark Knight he is still kinda wishy-washy about things.  He was all trying to get Harvey to be Gotham's hero because he wanted to bang Rachael, and then he was doing shit like the cellphone surveillance thing and hanging out with the cops.  Also, the next movie is when the Batcave will actually be the Batcave that people think of, probably.

it should end with someone telling Batman that the Joker escaped and that Batman needs to go fuck him up.  The beginnings of the cycle and all that.

Yeah gotta mention I liked your post about this in the GAF thread. I hope you're accurate, since having a full-fledged wise and experienced Batman in the upcoming movie would be awesome.
It's strange btw how the guy posting after you almost says the same thing. I wonder if he saw your post before writing his own or that it's just amazing coincidence.

I didn't like Goldeneye, that movie took two steps back from the awesome Timothy Dalton era and went back to the Roger Moore era cheesiness and this time all the ridiculous stunts were done with cgi and green screen so they weren't as enjoyable not to mention that Brosnan didn't have half the charisma that Moore had :yuck

Nolan said there won't be a fourth film. That what was appealing to him about doing the third was that it'd be the finale. That'd he'd have the story that started in BB find it's ending.

Any fourth batman would be a reboot, like what sony is doing with Spider-Man.

WB will just trow a bag of money at Nolan so he can stay as a producer and another one at Bale so he keeps playing batman, rebooting what will most certainly be a critically and commercially successful franchise would be stupid unless Nolan kills batman or something and they have no choice.

Well Nolan did say the main reason he is doing this is because he wants to end it, to have the first super hero franchise to have closure and a real ending. That'd pretty much destroy his main motivation behind doing the movie. He and Goyer even laid out a basic plot outline for a complete trilogy when doing Batman Begins.

Batman movies wont end, that franchise is the biggest super hero franchise there is. Nothing is even close. Warners isn't insane. I just doubt Warners would do direct sequels to Nolans trilogy without Nolans backing (and based on how he has talked about Batman 3 he'd be very against doing a fourth). Batman movies will never end but Nolan's seem very likely to end with the third movie.

It really doesn't matter what Nolan says right now, when the time comes the deciding factor will be the amount of money that WB trows to keep him on board he may say no because of the reasons you mention but he may also say yes, but I can assure you the last thing that WB wants is rebooting the franchise again anytime soon.

Sorry what does Inception have to do with Batman?

Inception had stellar build up, had originality, premise, promise, it had a big ass fucking star in Leo Dicaprio looking badass in every piece of media about the movie, and it just had great reviews.

TDK made a 700 million jump over Batman Begins. Just so you know, Batman's highest was 400 million, Begins is was the 2nd highest grossing Batman movie. You think what? That somehow the fanbase was there, they were just waiting in the bushes all these years?

First Spider Man movie made over 800 million. The last Spiderman movie made almost 900 million and it was a piece of shit. See now that's a guaranteed audience.
