Had some distinguished mentally-challenged wipes but we downed Flame Leviathan again. Awesome drop for one of our ret pallys:

(great upgrade from a titansteel destroyer lol)

Can't wait to get a preview of the upcoming Argent Tournament 5 man and raid for 3.2. While I definitely struggled initially with some of the instances (UP comes to mind), overall LK 5 mans have been way easier than TBC ones. Sure I'm a way better player now than I was when I spent 4 hours in Mana Tombs with Etiolet lol...but damn. I read someone from Blizzard had compared the new 5 man content to Magister's Terrace. Sounds good

I'm sure there are, but the point is...that's heroic healer loot?  Give me an effing break.  Reminds me why I quit in the first place, gear to a healer is so interchangeable and non-enticing.

It's 10 man loot and awful at that.  No one wants mp5 except resto druids who don't have much of a choice.  The major healing trinkets in Ulduar (10 and 25 man) are

Owned Emalon with Etiolet's guild. First time I've done it with shamans and boy does heroism make a difference. But even without heroism, the dps were destroying the charged adds with time to spare. Impressive

too bad he dropped t8 DK (defense! dammit) stuff, and we didn't have a DK

After like 4 years I finally got my account back from Blizzard. I at one time was the best warlock on the Eitrigg server, sold my account, stole it back, and the guy who bought it complaigned so blizzard shut it down back in like 2005. Anywho, I got it back and started dicking around again for like the first time in that long and realized that the game is so radically different that it's impossible for me to jump back into my 60 warlock and rogue and try to play them again. :(.

I did get back into my 45 priest, but the grind at those levels is still so terrible. Atleast I can get a epic mount on this next patch at 40 :/

My guild finally (fully) cleared 10 man Naxx tonight (KT tonight, and we cleared everything else tuesday and thursday). Could have been done ages ago...should have been done ages ago. Some of our dps got some great gear; one of our hunters walked out with like 3 tier pieces and a bunch of other shit. So on one hand I'm happy folks have better shit, and on the other I'm wondering why we can't consistently be awesome.

I'm liking the 3.2 news about the badges. Conquest emblems dropping in instances/Naxx will definitely help us get further into Ulduar.

that naxx i was in tonight was rather painful

It was alts and new people, some that had never done a lot of the bosses and I don't think we bothered enough to explain everything. And I was only running it to get something off KT, which is all I needed now from Naxx after getting a caster dagger from Ulduar.  But by the time we get to KT, most of the raid was already signed up for a 10 man Undying achievement run and bailed after wiping on KT because the melee didn't know to separate on KT.

Now that Yogg is down, Uldy is hardmode runs. And I didn't even get into the Undying run. They invited me while still in the other naxx group and then didn't reinvite me, so I was like wtfever. Honestly, after hours and hours in 25 naxx, I didn't feel like doing it all over again for a title anyways.

My prot pally is gonna hit 78 tonight.

Nope. Sometimes it can last into the mid afternoon but usually it's over around 2pm, when they say it'll be over.

Seems like many guilds are trying to gear up their new folks. Last night Extirpation was in there trying to get folks further geared to enter Ulduar; from what I've heard from friends they're kinda struggling, with some really good people leaving (do you know Yoggie and Starlight? they've joined Clan Battlehammer).

I always check for good players who aren't in guilds, but they're disappearing quickly.

PD: No, I don't recall those names. I don't know anyone looking for a guild. There's not a lot of raiders on RH and never really has been, at least on the Ally side.

Anyway, I wonder when 3.2 is coming out. Before or after/during Blizzcon? I've decided to leave my guild and join a raiding guild if we haven't made any progress by the time 3.2 arrives.

btw, leveling a shaman is pretty fun. I wound up doing Uldaman twice today and getting to lv40, so I can finally wear mail. Being able to take out 3-4 mobs at the same time is pretty fun, and it goes faster than it did with my main (prot warrior).

Left my guild tonight, after 5 months of ups and downs. It kinda imploded today. We've have problems with progression since...forever. We have a few geared folks ready for Ulduar, but often they don't show up to do Ulduar shit. I had heard Ulduar was a "guild killer" but usually that phrase was used to describe guilds that couldn't progress in Ulduar because of the difficulty; we didn't progress because many people weren't interesting in showing up. Which meant we were stuck running our under-geared folks through 10 man Naxx. But of course that gets old, and eventually geared folks stopped showing up to help the under-geared folks.

Our guild leader's response? Kick geared folks out the guild, demote others. That caused folks to leave tonight, and ultimately I wound up leaving as well. I had no problem running people through Naxx because it's fun. But I wanted to do Ulduar and get challenged. So meh, I left and joined a raid guild I've been doing shit with for some time now

It was tough because so many awesome people are/were in my old guild. I had a blast but at the end of the day I'd like to get Ulduar cleared before the next expansion comes out.

This is why I'm worried about my guild, even if we are tops ally right now on server.  Our recruiter complaining about something that has always been the case on the server is disturbing.  Not enough raiders? Welcome to 2006! People don't want to sit on the sidelines when there's no other endgame? Welcome to wotlk! We don't even offer much reward to people who wait around for raid spots. And there seems to be other comments about not liking everyone in the guild, which didn't use to be a problem. Most of us liked each other before some others suddenly appeared.

To ask other guilds to not exist solely for your own e-peen progression is immature.

I joined Extirpation; they're 12/14 in Ulduar. I have friends in Clan Battlehammer who wanted me to join but eh, your link explains one of the reasons I didn't. I'd rather being in a guild where I know I can be useful and definitely raid 1-2 times a week or so. Clan Battlehammer already has some of the best tanks on the server too, so me finding a spot would be even tougher; plus they seem too damn serious. Expirtation lost their MT to Clan Battlehammer not long ago, and their new MT is busy with rl stuff. So I have an opportunity to OT a bit/further learn fight, and ultimately MT Ulduar soon.

I glanced at our raid calender from last week (before I joined) and it was full of 25 man Naxx runs, Ulduar, 3d OS, even a 10 man Naxx run. So it definitely looks like there's lots to do. Naxx is still fun to me for some reason, and once the patch comes out there will be a new raid to play around with. I definitely wish there was more content though. Emalon is kinda boring now that I've successfully pugged him a few times - but I did get my t8 gloves from him http://www.wowhead.com/?item=45426 (not a big upgrade from 7.5)

My new guild is...interesting. Lots of geared lv80s. Guild chat boils around pvp, various folks complaining about other guilds (mainly Clan Battlehammer... the biggest raid guild on the server), and recruiting. Certainly different than the community environment of my last guild. No more lowbies to run through SM :usacry

I'm kinda on the sidelines this week in terms of Ulduar because people signed up before me, so I've been assigned to 25 man Naxx heh. We got to KT last night and failed hard, mainly due to new players (dumb melee) not doing the fight correctly. That's the first time I've ever had trouble with KT lol, he's a push over...

that being said, it's also one of the worst raid fights imo. I hate the 4min mob wave at the beginning which is boring as hell. Then the actual boss fight is just as boring, at least for tanks; probably more stimulating for healers heh

25 man Naxx is stupid easy, 25 man Ulduar is stupid hard.  I don't remember Blizzard being this dumb about difficulty spikes, but whatev.  We'll be trying Ulduar again this tue/wed with our well geared officers back from their holidays, so maybe it'll go better.

I'm a shadowpriest, so at least I'm not healing, bored, but still - I dislike fights that require me to constantly move (like jumping on snowdrifts/campfires for Hodir, or dodging the lightning bolts that get hurled down the tunnel on the Thorim fight).  Having to constantly move makes it hard to dps, natch.

My guild is doing 25 man Ulduar tonight. Seems like scores of people have signed up, I just hope everyone took the time to learn the fights; the guild leader has made it clear that anyone who fails hard will get replaced though, which should cut down on some foolishness.

I've focused on the first 6 fights mainly. Flame Leviathan is a loot pinata, not concerned about him. Dunno who's going to MT, but I've been looking up good ways to position Ignis and I think I'm comfortable with that. XT doesn't seem hard if dps aoes the adds fast. Dunno about Razorscale; he doesn't sound hard but we'll see

fun raiding night :bow

Lots of challenging, fun stuff done.

Flame Leviathan (25 man): lol

Razorscale (25 man): A bad initial wipe due to a tank DCing but we owned the fight on second try. The add phase can get crazy. That's the type of fight that can really fuck you with bad luck - say, a Sentinel+watcher aoe+blue flame spawning on you.

XT (25 man): I MTd it, kinda boring. I'd imagine the OT and dps have a more stimulating job. Wiped 3 times due to some shaky healing (ie me dying).

Kologarn (25 man): Ouch, dude hits like a brick. On XT our tries got substantially better, but this dude completely stomped us. The eye beam wasn't a problem, OT had the adds under control, but healers couldn't keep me up. People started leaving after a few wipes

sooooo then I got invited to the 10 man Ulduar run which was cool.

Iron Council: I failed so hard initially OTing this. The overcharge killed me a couple times (smh) and I was having trouble moving the boss out of the dps rune. But after awhile I got it and we beat it. Fun fight

Hodir: Awesome fight. I don't have a frost set so I had to dps the fight. Lots of stuff going on in this fight, really keeps you on your toes imo. I had a blast - even the wipes were fun, watching people get totally annihilated by the flash freeze :bow

Ignis: MT tanked him in the water while I gathered up the adds. Made it pretty easy

fails (other than iron council): We spent like 5min going over a strategy to kill some trash that led to Kologarn. Adds were marked for saps, sheep, banish etc, raid leader was diligently explaining everything in vent...then when given the go ahead I charged into the mobs and threw down a thunderclap, fucking up the saps/sheep and wiping the raid  :lol

You can't solo tank Kologarn on 25 man.  He does a stacking debuff that will destroy you.

We're working on Algalon 10 and 25 man hard modes now (Hodir, Steelbreaker).  It's fun.

Any casters that have a cast time rotation get easily messed up on many Uldy fights.  As an Ele Shaman, I really only have 3 to 4 spells, but since one spell has a set cooldown that can not be adjusted any movement makes you lose window time on the spec's highest scaling spell(Lightning Bolt) and you must fit in as many of said spells in between the Lava Burst wall so that you get max potential out. Since haste barely alters the effectiveness of either Lava Burst of Flameshock, then movement and haste only allows you to shuffle around 1.5 books in between the static bookend of your fire spells. So movement can not be adapted by 50% of any Shaman rotation.

Melee DPSers mainly have instants and are only affected by range

end wow nerdery

Kologarn (25 man): Ouch, dude hits like a brick. On XT our tries got substantially better, but this dude completely stomped us. The eye beam wasn't a problem, OT had the adds under control, but healers couldn't keep me up. People started leaving after a few wipes

You can't solo tank Kologarn on 25 man.  He does a stacking debuff that will destroy you.

We're working on Algalon 10 and 25 man hard modes now (Hodir, Steelbreaker).  It's fun.

I thought that was nerfed? smh

My warrior prepares to storm the front door of Icecrown Citadel -- I don't think there's any way I could look more badass:

I uh

I made an account.

Doing the trial.

So far...I'm impressed. It seems more casual than FFXI (the last mmo I played, which made me swear the genre off) but fucking fun too. And this is just killing random monsters for quests.

The "yall serious" part really uh...wtf

Made a new character, went Horde. Started over my pal's server of Dragonmar. Made it to level 5. He helped me out. Did a shit ton of quests, made it to Brill, then we journeyed to the Undead Capital.

This is 99999 x better than FFXI.

Alliance sucks compared to this. Horde all the way. Does the Alliance get ooze trickling out of skeletons into a giant pool of slime?

Man, that is so badass.

You really should start a Blood Elf.  Their beginning quests are far better than any other Horde faction's.  If you want to keep your undead rogue though I guess you can just take the teleporter over to Silvermoon City.

I have the trial.

You can't use blood elf without having blood crusade.

Almost level 8.

I've played only a few hours today and I feel like I did more today in WoW than I did my entire time playing FF11. The game's pacing is so much better.
