Ghibli + Level 5 = Ninokuni (that's Japanese for 'Hot NDS Sex')

Now granted, I'm a sucker for Ghibli, but just the concept of drawing shapes from a magical book to open a door to another world is hot as hell.  That, and the art direction is 100% Ghibli.  The brief gameplay section of the main character wandering around town totally screamed <em>Kiki's Delivery Service</em> to me.  Given that Level 5 is doing the game, chances are actually good that the gameplay will be at least tolerable as well.

They tout it as an RPG but we have yet to see a single battle.

That looks pretty sick so far, can't wait to see what the battles will be like. The only L5 games I've played were DQ8 and Dark Cloud 2. Liked Dark Cloud 2 a lot (specifically, its photography, inventions, Spheda, and weapon customization), and of course DQ8 was the best game of last gen.

As far as JRPGs go, they have a pretty good track record.  And they are hella good at cel-shading.

Basically. Rogue Galaxy, Dark Cloud games, Jeanne D'arc. 

Shit developer, but DQ was good.

Dungeons got a bit repetitive and the story was throwaway pap, but god I loved Dark Cloud 2. I love RPGs with town building elements, DC2 really felt like a spiritual successor to some of the Quintet SNES games...
