I just did $2500 in overtime pay in 7 days working security for the Francophone Summit in Quebec City. All I did for a week was watch a hotel room door, and open that door for Prime Minister Stephen Harper and his wife.

7 days. $3300 in the bank. Some days, it's good to be a Mountie.

For me it sucks - I'm salary. I just worked 9 AM - 1 AM, albeit breaks for lunch and dinner, but that's it.

That's a shame. A real shame...

Strangely, our contract is based on a yearly salary, but there's so many allowances, incidentals, and overtime, that saying it is "salaried" is pointless. Government jobs.

Not being a Canadian is a problem. But there were people in training who were joining the Force at 50 years of age.

And our uniform is so fucking sexy. Only thing that might match it is the US Marines.
