Eclipse - dark side of the moon.  the song that wakes you up after you have a stoned nap that felt like it was 5 hours long during Us and Them.

A Day in the Life is the unquestionable masterpiece, and more amazing given the fact that it came off such a shitty Beatles album.

Led Zeppelin IV - When the Levee Breaks.

Tons of blues songs are covers/standards. However, Zeppelin completely transformed every song that they covered, to the point where most aren't really recognizable as covers.

Even if that's the case, they should have still credited the original composes and paid royalty fees, when possible. But it wasn't always the case; they completely transformed stole a number of obscure folk songs, too. They weren't just playing some standards, which everyone should have known were not Zep originals. I don't, however, expect objectivity from someone who believes that the best closing song and the best three opening songs were produced by the same band.

Some of my favorites:
Radiohead - Motion Picture Soundtrack (pretty much all of their closes are great)
Neil Young - Ambulance Blues
The Beach Boys - Surf's Up (even if it kinda got squeezed out late and maybe wasn't originally going to be a closing track... and there isn't really a perfect version  :-\)
edit for more awesomeness:
Eno - Here Come the Warm Jets
David Bowie - Fame (even though the album it's on is mostly shit)

7 Sixes - Hieroglyphics

Got To Be Free - The Kinks

Blends seamlessly with the first track on the album.

And honorable mention to Eclipse, although it's already been mentioned.

I wouldn't classify Zeppelin as a "rip off band" but, despite them being my favorite band, it's very hard to deny they stole a lot of shit. Turning black blues into almost unrecognizable, sprawling white blues is no excuse for not crediting the original artist. Even Elvis gave credit where credit was due and was loved by the artists he mimicked.

In most other genres like hip hop or electronic music artists give credit to the artists they sample. There's no excuse for what Zeppelin tried to get away with.

finally, a zephead with reason!

andf or the record:  Levve Breaks is one of the few Zep songs/credits/stealings that I actually love.  Very rarely do they get their 800-minute songs engaging throughout, so when they do, like in Levee, I listen.  Other than the shameless theievery and their sprawling constant unimaginative masturb-sessions, the biggest reason I can't stand many of their songs is Plant's voice.  He sounds like a Grandma with the lung power of a stereotypical black soul singer.

overall, they're a B- band with a A++ hype, which is a shame.

If I had to pick one: Tori Amos - Little Earthquakes

Other favourites:
Bjork - Unison
Alanis Morissette - Secret Song (off Jagged Little Pill)
Yeah Yeah Yeahs - Our Time
Radiohead - Street Spirit (Fade Out)
Amy Winehouse - Secret Song (Moody's Mood For Love)
David Bowie - I'm Deranged (Reprise) (Lost Highway Soundtrack)
Pearl Jam - Around the Bend
Yeah Yeah Yeahs - Turn Into
Nirvana - All Apologies

Street Spirit is definitely up there.
