My court date is tommorow morning at 8:30 am, two hours away from where I live and i'm ridiculously scared

Hopefully, the judge doesn't issue a fine because I don't have any money to pay it, and instead makes me do CS or something.

Otherwise, this might be my last night of posting :'(

I love you all.

Any tips?

I got arrested for being a minor that was drunk.

And thanks for the advice Cohen, I didn't know there was a billing office. Also, I didn't receive any letters or anything, so do I get like a public lawyer who I talk to that morning or something?

what you aint going to jail for that! The only way you'd go to jail is if

a) you dont make your payments for the fine
b) fail to appear in court.

you got nothing to worry about, cept the amount of the fine, but it probably wont be that bad.

Oh, someone told me that you had to pay right after the case is done in full. If there's payment plans you can do then I can handle that. I was just scared if he fined me like $300 and I had to pay that right there.

Also you think they'll ask me where we got the alch from?

They typically only jail repeat offenders, I was able to have my DUI diverted after completing a three-month AA-type program and attending a Victims' Impact Panel.

Plead guilty, be nice, etc.

Oh yeah, I remember I was telling you about how I had the same thing happen to me when I was in high school (more than once). Well, my brother has three MIPs, and he didn't do the assigned community service or pay the fine in the time allotted, and the judge granted him extra time. So I wouldn't be too worried.

On top of Cohen's suggestions, I would also suggest that you wear a button down shirt and tie as you will most likely be appearing directly in front of the judge. for my second MIP, I had to appear in front of the judge and then he asked me what I drank the night I was caught. Just a heads up.

I did out run them, but I was too stupid to realize I wasn't that far away and started walking casually to blend in, but they caught up, smelt it on me and just assumed.

One caveat, sometimes climb a tree as soon as you are clear.

Hm, maybe Cohen remembers but I sort of freaked out here a few months ago because I missed my court date over a traffic violation (of course, I owed the court money, too). I thought maybe there was a warrant out for my arrest (and that is what they threaten you with), but I guess for minor violations you are given one free pass -- I simply had my court date rescheduled for a couple weeks later and didn't have to pay any additional late fines whatsoever.

Get your Speech and Charisma up high enough, and you may be able to talk your way out of it. If not, you'll have to escape prison through the sewers and hope you don't run into a progress stopping glitch.

there is a 14 day grace period after your court date where you can reschedule. They say they'll issue a warrant after that, but generally it's a couple of months later when they actually do.

So it pretty much went terrible. I was so lost in what the judge did, and he didn't even care when I said I was unemployed and in college. He fined me $360 to be paid before December 17th.

I can't wait for jail :/

Yeah, they'll put you away for at least five years for being late on a $360 fine. Federal "pound me in the ass" prison.

It's not even late, I just have to sell all my shit to get the money, or have my mom pay it as my christmas present (which would suck, because I really want some bass books) :/. Oh well. Anyone want a 360 bundle for $360?

I don't mean to be insensitive, but there's no reason you can't take on a part time job for the holidays. It sucks, and it's during the exam period. But it's certainly doable, and much better than selling your hobby away or burdening your obviously over-burdened mother.

Sucks to hear it Meth, but yeah, getting a part time job over the holidays is definitely the way to go here. It shouldn't take too long to get the money together. The timing just before Chistmas certainly does suck, though.
