Bleh.

Most of Warner's Ultimate Collector's Editions are kinda lame. You get a 32-page booklet, some reproduction cards, and it costs like $25 more than the plain Special Edition. I see they're not even giving us a choice on the Blu-Ray though, I don't see a standard edition for sale. Only $42 for Casablanca on BD, thanks WB.

c'mon; does the movie REALLY need HD? Seriously? The two-disc DVD SE looks perfect upscaled. I don't see how HD benefits a movie this old much. Same thing with Oz. I have WBs massive three disc SE box set and I can't see rebuying that on HD either.

Did you see the HD DVD?  The difference was pretty huge.  Sooo clean.

While I like the book concept, I hate Warner for this...

Blu-Ray JFK released in time for the 45th:


JFK DVD released the SAME DAY as the Blu-Ray and for only $5 more:


The DVD set includes the EXACT SAME book the Blu-Ray comes with, the same extras, an additional two-hour 2008 documentary on Kennedy, as well as replicas of Kennedy letters, an election pin, photos, and it's all in a nice hard box set. For $5 more than the Blu-Ray. Since they didn't do the same set on Blu-Ray, I ended up buying the DVD set.
