Grocery Store Question!
« on: November 24, 2008, 01:15:25 AM »
OK Guys, let me play out this scenario for you!

You have roughly $120
You are at Vons
You need (healthyish) food to last you a week
You need at least 3000 calories a day

what do you buy?

--1 loaf of sourdough sliced bread
--a pound of sandwich steak (thinly sliced stuff, come in packs of three or 4 slices, 2 slices per sandwich.)
--1 jar of mezzetta roasted red peppers
--1 bottle of balsamic vinegar
--veggies

and jeez, i dunno, spend the other $100 on whatever.  $120 for a week's worth of food is awesome if you're shopping for yourself...overkill even.

Do you cook on a regular basis?  How comfortable are you with making food from scratch?

3000 calories a day and healthy is hard to do lol - I mean you REALLY gotta eat.

All I have in my kitchen at any given moment is a bunch of bananas, herbal tea, dark chocolate bar, and 3-4 lean cuisine tv dinners. A banana is enough for breakfast, lunch I eat out, and dinner is lean cuisine. Chocolate is for when im craving BIG BAGS OF OREOS and cant have them cause lol omg so fat
