Is there any way to fix dead pixels on a monitor?
« on: December 09, 2008, 09:22:50 AM »
Just got a new 25.5" Asus VK266H monitor, and it's working great (except for the component video-- the Wii looks like shit, but then it IS the Wii), but it has one dead pixel.  Normally this would not even phase me but the dead pixel is towards the center of the screen, and is surprisingly noticeable.  Are there any ways to fix this?  I read about tapping on the screen or massaging the screen with a pen/cloth but this sounds like stupid nonsense-bullshit, and I don't want to scratch the screen or mess up the LCD.

There is one pixel on my screen that gets stuck on red sometimes. I just tap it (very) lightly with a Sharpie and it goes away.

Mine's black, so it's a dead pixel IIRC.  Is it worth trying one of those programs out that "unsticks" pixels or no point?

The good thing is that when gaming or watching movies, you can't even see it.  It's just when using the web, really.
